“Many of us now have children, and the reality of game development is that we need to maintain the quality, so something else had to change… Extending the development cycle was the way to go. It was something we were discussing from the very beginning.”So while a game releasing later is a bit more painful to wait for, if it means the game is not just rushed to market and then patched later then the positives of delaying a game should outweigh the negatives of doing so. Resistance 3 is currently slated for a 2011 release.

Insomniac Details Resistance 3 Co-op
Insomniac has discussed the reasons for reintroducing campaign co-op to the Resistance franchise.
Resistance 3's campaign will feature a two-player co-operative campaign playable in split-screen or online.
"We had a very vocal group speak up when we didn’t have campaign co-op in Resistance 2, and there is something very special and unique about playing back-to-back with your buddy through the campaign," lead designer Drew Murray told Play Magazine.
"There will be several unique co-operative mechanics to allow you to assist and rescue your co-operative partner that won’t exist in the single-player campaign."

The information has been published in a German Magazine and we have collected all the key points for you below -
• Capelli will be willing to do anything to protect his wife and child in the game
• The development process is going steadily for the game however, the HUD is mostly empty right now and the design and modelling of weapons is not over.
• The team’s still not decided over whether the game offer you with health packs which will replenish your health or will go with the classic health bar.
• The aiming mechanics of the game will be easier
• Resistance 3 is not similar to Call of Duty games but it’s made in order to appeal to shooter lovers.
• New weapons will be available in the game which have not been announced yet.
• Carbine, Auger and Hedgehog grenades will be back.
• You cannot drive vehicles in the game but can be a passenger mounting the weapons and firing them while someone else drives.
• The final 6 months of development will be devoted to optimizing the graphics and visual style of the the game.
• The game will be designed in such a way that the player will always get the feeling that someone or something is following him and doesn’t feel safe anywhere.

Sa-l faca cum l-au facut pe primul. Sa ai 100 de arme la tine, sa fie arme din primul si din al doilea (cele mai utile, unele nu aveau niciun rost in joc), sa fie health bar (cu health packs), sa fie co-op in campanie cu splitscreen, sa fie boss battles adevarate (in primul joc era greu sa bati si un stalker, in 2 bateai un boss de 200m fara prea mult efort), grafica mai buna... Imi place ca vor sa-l faca mai "horror", se potriveste oarecum cu atmosfera si ideea jocului.

Creative director of Insomniac games Marcus Smith confirmed on the PS blog.

“In terms of co-op, we are focusing on a two-player co-op through the single-player campaign, which can be played online with a friend, or split-screen on your couch.”
“New to Resistance 3 are upgradeable weapons, which will give your weapons new abilities and power as you continue to use them.
“In terms of multiplayer,” he added, “we are planning a much more focused, progression-based multiplayer experience.”

With such a huge buzz surrounding the game, and in true Insomniac Games style, the developer has ramped up their viral marketing machine by releasing a scary image of a Grim in the wild, baffling media outlets.
An apparent deer hunter in Berwick near Morgan City, Louisiana posted the creepy picture on the Wildgame Innovations website , claiming he was lying in wait in the pitch black when the strange creature appeared. He was so frightened that his camera broke, but he managed to retreive the image from its undamaged memory chip.
