Microsoft a cumparat Bethesda si ZeniMax Media

Despre Bethesda as fi preferat sa fi fost impartita si cumparata de altii pe bucati, adica francizele cumparate de companii diferite.

DOOM si Wolfenstein de exemplu mi-ar fi placut sa fi fost achizitionate de SONY.
Dishonored sa fi fost achizitionat de Capcom.
Prey sa se intoarca la Take-Two Interactive, la 2k.
Fallout sa se duca la Microsoft, personal nu prea mai imi pasa, acum cand exista seria Metro cu tema post-apocaliptica facuta ca la carte. Poate si Rage.

Iar Elder Scrolls........cred ca era preferabil sa se duca la o companie europeana precum Ubisoft sau Deep Silver/Koch Media sau Embracer Group (THQ).
Eu observ ca europenii scot cele mai bune RPG-uri medievale.

Chiar asa, cu pretul la bursa nu departe de maxim istoric in plina pandemie, cu miliarde profit din jocuri si miliarde din microtranzactii, chiar de faliment isi pun ei problema.

Pai cam asta e problema.
Practic, EA nu mai produce jocuri, ci traieste din "bisnita" cu microtranzactii.

Achizita e logica. Todd Howard a fost mai mereu pe scena la fiecare conferinta E3 la Microsoft. Ei au lucrat cot la cot cu Microsoft de mult timp. Daca erau relatii deja facute totul a fost la cheie. 7 miliarde e extrem de putin pentru Microsoft. Pentru Sony sau altele ce ai mentionat inseamna extrem de mult, Microsoft are un market cap de trilioane, nu zeci de miliarde.

Nu e nicio problema ca un joc sa aibe microtranzactii, atat timp cat: 1. aduce un value 2. nu strica experienta jucatorilor. La 2. au avut fails, dar cu timpul parerea mea e ca si-au mai spalat din pacate.


EA produce francize, jocuri in serie. Fifa, Madden, NFS, UFC, Battlefield, Star Wars si altele. Francize noi? Sa vedem, Anthem -> nu a fost cea mai minunata incercare, dar avea potential. Un Anthem 2 poate ar fi un succes urias. Titanfall? Parerea mea un mare succes. Apex -> concurent super mare la Fortnite, ceea ce e mare chestie. Parerea mea ca au trecut ceva ani de cand EA au fost codasii industriei. Ubisoft, Blizz / Activision, I'm watching you.

And we said this as part of the announcement. When we think about Bethesda, it's going to be the continuing to allow -- I'll say allow, but continue to sell their games on the platforms that they exist today, and we'll determine what that looks over time and will change over time. I'm not making any announcements about exclusivity or something like that. But that model will change.

What we'll do in the long run is we don't have intentions of just pulling all of Bethesda content out of Sony or Nintendo or otherwise. But what we want is we want that content, in the long run, to be either first or better or best or pick your differentiated experience, on our platforms. We will want Bethesda content to show up the best as -- on our platforms.

Yes. That's not a point about being exclusive. That's not a point about we're being -- adjusting timing or content or road map. But if you think about something like Game Pass, if it shows up best in Game Pass, that's what we want to see, and we want to drive our Game Pass subscriber base through that Bethesda pipeline.

So again, I'm not announcing pulling content from platforms one way or the other. But I suspect you'll continue to see us shift towards a first or better or best approach on our platforms.

Puteau sa respinga achizitia pt Europa si atunci cel mai probabil pica tot deal-ul in US.

De ex Google au cumparat fitbit acum 2 ani si abia luna trecuta au primit ok-ul de la EU, cu anumite conditii.

In US nu prea se pun conditii si e foarte relaxata treaba cu monopolul, chiar daca au si ei legislatie prefera sa nu o aplice ca sa nu supere firmele mari (in general fiind vorba de multe miliarde in joc).
