    Un mic video preview mai jos cu Samsung Galaxy VR. Observati va rog ca spune de cateva ori ca e "pixelated", si asta desi Note 4 are 2560 x 1440 rezolutia - practic devine 720p per ochi. Deci pana vom avea QHD, nu cred ca o sa fim prea multumiti...

    Ce nu inteleg eu insa, este cum de a anuntat Oculus Rift ca DK2 are rezolutie 1080 x 960 per ochi, avand in vedere ca foloseste un ecran mai slab si mai vechi de Note 3 (care are 1920 x 1080 rezolutia), in timp ce Note 4 cu rezolutie mai mare iese mai rau (1280 x 720)?!? Calculez eu gresit oare rezolutia fiind vorba de 3D?

    In caz ca vreti sa aflati mai multe despre Project Morpheus, baietii astia au reusit sa faca un "hands-on": Hands On With PlayStation’s Virtual Reality Headset | TechCrunch - si sunt foarte multumiti de ce au testat. Phew...

    Mda, se pare ca Oculus Rift mai intarzie un pic... varianta retail va fi pe piata undeva pe la inceputul lui 2016, conform kotaku: The Oculus Rift Will Go On Sale in 2016.

    Luna trecuta am avut ocazia sa testez Oculus Rift, cea mai recenta editie pentru developeri. E prima data cand am incercat VR si nu sunt deloc incantat. Am incercat un demo in Unity facut de niste studenti din Bucuresti si pot spune doar ca are potential, dar mai este mult pana sa schimbe gamingul. In primul rand e FPS-ul slab. Au recunoscut studentii ca nu au optimizat tocmai grozav lucrurile, dar totusi, un simplu cub in spatiu rula undeva la 10-15 fps pe un laptop cu 2 GB memorie video. Rezolutia 720p lasa si asta de dorit. Head trackingul la fel, problematic, insa aici e mai usor de remediat. Sper ca la anul se vor rezolva problemele astea.

    Toate problemele astea pe care le spui tu sunt din soft.

    Eu am la dispozitie versiunea 2.0 de la OR de ceva vreme si nu am intalnit aceste probleme decat in aplicatii foarte prost optimizate. Exista pe kickstarter un proiect ce te poarta in calatoria Apollo 11 spre luna. Este absolut magnific, ceva ce nu am experimentat niciodata. Am iesit socat la sfarsit si tot ce-mi doream era sa sa vad produsul final. Fara scaderi de FPS, fara ameteli fara nici o alta probleme.

    Da, chiar ar fi bine sa nu fie asa, cu softul m-am lamurit si eu, singura mea ingrijorare mai ramane rezolutia ecranului si hardwareul dispozitivelor mobile, sper sa fie capabile de VR headsets.

    ymess: eu unul nu inteleg ceva. Ai spus ca ai testat ultima varianta de Oculus Rift (care daca nu ma insel este DK2) si te-a stressat rezolutia mica (720p). Ori eu din cate stiu rezolutia este 960 x 1080 per ochi. Also, un cub se misca cu 10-15 fps? Ceva e in neregula, pt. ca la urma urmei daca iei un joc clasic de consola si il imparti la 2 (pentru 3D-ul VR-ului), si tot iesi la 15 FPS (sau 30 pt. un joc de 60 FPS). Stiu ca nu e chiar atat de simplu... dar ceva e in neregula acolo.

    Da, acum am vazut exact specificatiile. Mi s-a zis ca e ultima versiune disponibila, deci inteleg ca e DK2, dar din specificatii mai degraba tind sa cred ca a fost DK1. Banuiala mea e ca engine-ul Unity e de vina, alaturi de proasta optimizare. Saptamana viitoare am sa merg sa testez iar, poate un demo serios in Unreal Engine m-ar lamuri si pe mine.

    Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey has been accused of claiming credit for work that isn't his, while developing virtual reality tech at Total Recall Technologies, a Hawaii based firm, according to a recently filed lawsuit.
    The company says it hired Luckey in 2011 to develop a prototype head mounted display following the signing of a non-disclosure agreement and contract. Luckey is said to have used information and feedback garnered during the creation of this prototype to launch a Kickstarter for Oculus Rift.

    Unity Technologies has announced today that the latest version of the engine, Unity 5.1, is now available for download. The new version of the powerful game development tool extends its power, efficiency, and adds new multiplatform support.
    Among other things, it brings a new unified development experience for VR platforms like Oculus Rift and an easy to use Unity Multiplayer networking solution.
    Unity 5.1 brings with it a rendering pipeline for both VR and AR devices, with native Oculus Rift deployment. Full native support for further platforms including the Microsoft Hololens and Gear VR will be added in the near future.

    Uf mult mai e pana se lansează OR. Abia aștept să văd cum sunt racing games cu el, si-asa ma bate gândul sa iau al treilea monitor și sa mut volanul pe PC, după ce am văzut unele setup-uri pe youtube.. Cred ca mai bine am răbdare și fac direct saltul la VR.

    Incredibil ce-am vazut... Microsoft + Oculus Rift... cu gamepad de Xbox One inclus... Deci PC + Xbox One. Sony deja cred ca-si roade unghiile cu Morpheus... Dzeule, si Valkyrie cum arata. Me wants!

    Oculus Touch e interesant... pacat insa ca la final "See you at E3"... nu puteau sa spuna si ei un pret, o data de lansare... grrr!

    haha buna gluma, imitatia aia de VR nici nu se compara cu Morpheus, am crezut ca Phil a fost foarte clar cand a explicat ca tot ce poti sa faci cu oculus pe xbox one e sa stai intr-o camera virtuala cu un ecran virtual, nu are nici-o treaba cu full in game view pe care o sa il ai pe PC SAU PS4, xbox one e cel mai slab in domeniul VR, si nu numai...
