What is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ?

Former Castlevania Producer Announces Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - IGN

Today, Former Castlevania series producer Koji "IGA" Igarashi announced Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, a new game seeking funding on Kickstarter.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is 2.5D action adventure game directed and produced by IGA. He will also handle the role of scenario writer on the project. Castlevania series composer Michiru Yamane will join him along with developer Inti Creates, the same studio behind Keji Inafune's Mighty No. 9, Azure Striker Gunvolt, and Mega Man 9 and 10.

UPDATE: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night surpassed $1 million in funding roughly 10 hours after the launch of its Kickstarter fundraising campaign, unlocking cheat codes.

• Bloodstained Developers Offering PC Beta to $60 Tier Backers

The makers of the upcoming "Igavania" title Bloodstained have announced that anyone who pledges at least $60 to the game's Kickstarter campaign and selects the PC version of the game will be able to take part in beta testing of the game through Steam.
The details aren't set in stone as of yet, but the developers are promising early access to pre-release builds of the game and the opportunity to help develop it by tracking down bugs and offering feedback to the developers.

Koji Igarashi's spiritual successor to his brand of Castlevania games, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, could make its way to Wii U, if the developer's next Kickstarter stretch goal is met. And the developer has tapped Armature Studio, a team with experience making Metroid-style games, to bring the game to Nintendo's console should that happen.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be ported to Wii U if the game's crowdfunding campaign reaches $3 million, according to a recent update posted to Kickstarter. The game is already slated to come to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, with Igarashi and Inti Creates working on those versions.

With less than two days left in its Kickstarter, Castlevania successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is now the most funded video game in Kickstarter history.
As of this writing, Bloodstained, the development of which is being led by Koji Igarashi, has raised more than $4.25 million. The Kickstarter ends at 11 p.m. ET on June 12. Its initial goal was $500,000.
If the game's funding hits $4.5 million it will get a prequel mini-game for PC and consoles. At $4.75 million it will get the prequel for portables and at $5 million the game will include roguelike dungeons.
Already, Kickstarter stretch goals have unlocked a Wii U and Vita port of the game as well as an online challenge mode and slew of other add-ons.
In Bloodstained players take on the role of Miriam, a woman whose skin has been fused with crystals that give her special abilities. The game achieved its goal of $500,000 in a single day.
The game is now expected to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox One.

The news came via an update on their Kickstarter page. “In short: To ensure the game meets his quality standards, IGA is bringing on additional developers and has moved his estimate for the game’s release back to the first half of 2018,” they say. “We’ll continue to keep you updated on the development process every step of the way. (In fact, the next regularly scheduled update, featuring some songs and commentary from Michiru Yamane, is just about ready to go. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Gets New E3 2017 Trailer

For those that don’t know: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an upcoming action-adventure game led by former Catlevania series legendary producer, Koji Igarashi. The game is considered a spirtual successor to the Castelvania series, and is expected to hit PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Mac, PC, Linux, and PS Vita sometime in 2018 (with the latter version being developed by Armature Studio).
