Microsoft has announced a new Xbox One price cut to $300. The decrease is limited to the holiday season, running from December 9 to December 26. All consoles will drop in price by $50, including the more expensive 1 terabyte SKUs. This move is made to match Sony’s temporary price cut of the PlayStation 4. That promotions ends a week earlier, on December 19.
The company is also launching a massive digital game sale on Xbox Live later in the month. It’s billed as a “Countdown” sale event, but actually extends into the New Year. The event will last from December 22, 2015-January 7, 2016. The sale will include more than 200 deals, with discounts ranging from 40-60 percent. It will include daily and weekly deals, and Xbox Live Gold member can expect to reap the biggest savings.
