News: Dead Space 2 multiplayer will 'surprise and excite' - ComputerAndVideoGames.com

Dead Space 2's controversial multiplayer mode will 'surprise and excite' the community haters concerned that it's addition will water down the solo experience.

That's according to executive producer, Steve Papoutsis, who told our colleagues at Edge that developer Visceral understands that it needs to put out an "extremely high quality" follow-up.

"I think that until people see what we're doing with the multiplayer there's always going to be speculation and we encourage that," he said.

"It's exciting for us that people care about what we're doing and in the months to come when we start talking more about what we're doing with multiplayer I think people are going to be excited, and some of those people who are maybe concerned that we're doing something weird or watering down the singleplayer experience to create the multiplayer are going to be surprised, and pleasantly so."

Papoutsis is keen to emphasise that Visceral is "not putting that [multiplayer] component in the singleplayer game," and it's focused on making the solo experience "as good as it can possibly be."
