The upcoming SSX titles from Electronic Arts has received more details recently, including a firm release date as well as a new trailer that highlights all of the dangers a snowboarder faces when trying to tackle some of the most perilous mountains in the world.

EA confirmed last year that it's rebooting the SSX franchise with Deadly Descents, but, since then, the company dropped the subtitle and has slowly showcased that the game still features plenty of classic elements from previous SSX games, and that, even if it has a more realistic tone, it's still going to highlight the fun nature of snowboarding.

Now, the company has presented a new trailer, called Survive It, which showcases some of the biggest dangers faced by snowboarders when racing through mountains, from avalanches to ice, rocks, trees or even gravity.

What's more, EA also confirms that the new SSX is going to hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms on February 14, 2012, in North America, and February 17, in the rest of the world.
