    Dead Don’t Ride is the title of Sony Bend’s yet-to-be-announced PS4 game.

    It’s a title that has been doing the rounds for some time, too, after Sony’s Arran Green registered a domain bearing the same moniker two years ago.

    Now, Shinobi602 alleges that Dead Don’t Ride is an apocalyptic title that features themes of the undead.

    Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live.

    At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love – and hope. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy they find a reason to live. Hope never dies.

    it's no last of us, but it will probably do until TLOU2 is announced.

    oricum imi place mai mult cum arata si se simte asta decat dead rising 4, din putinele imagini de pana acum. si intr-un fel ma bucur ca nu e TLOU2 asta, pentru ca eu sincer inca mai speram la Joel si Ellie.

    Am uitat de asta in cele cateva cuvinte despre E3, cand am vazut inceputul am zis, TLOU 2 Mi-a placut ideea, il astept cu mare interes, sper sa ma atraga povestea, nu suport jocurile cu zombalai.

    Nici eu nu suport jocurile cu zombalai, nu am putut sa joc decat the last of us in care si acolo erau de fapt infectati, dar cand vad demo'ul asta cu orchestra live se zburleste parul pe maini Valul ala de zombalai imi aduce aminte de filmul cu Brad Pitt "World War Z"

    cateva detalii dintr-un interviu cu devs:

    * Studio is about 100 people, was around 40 - 50 for Uncharted Vita.

    * Game is PS4 Exclusive, no PC mode "We are Sony Bend, we are PS4 Exclusive" lol. At Sony Bend, they make it very clear during interview, everyone wears a lot of hats. Many people are involved in different aspects.

    * One thing I picked up is you ride a special bike, called a Drifter, that can drive off road, they said lots of off roading since the roads are all broken up, "Broken Roads." The bike is needed to survive, it is like its own character. It has saddle bags that holds your inventory. The bike is grounded, you will need to "know where it is and manage it" Several devs are bikers, lots of research into the bike. Actually got it up on rollers to make sure they got the sound of the bike right.

    * Also, weather has a big effect on traveling and how the bike handles.

    * No Multiplayer at all, focusing on their strengths, single player story.

    * Demo was a bounty hunting mission, hunting down a biker "2 Dog" and tried to show the danger of leaving the safety of encampments.

    * Wanted the game to be a big sandbox of what you would do when "**** goes down."

    * Weapons crafting system, they call a "MacGuyver Mentality" where the you figure out clever ways to build tools to get out of situations.

    * Their demo they are showing off on show floor has "millions" of ways to play that demo, depending on what tools you bring with you. The environment also plays a huge role in how you deal with certain situations.

    * Takes place just a few years after the "apocolypse" event. Society is starting to try to rebuild, as supplies are starting to run out. Made it sound like part of the game is figuring out what to do with the resources you find.

    * Wildlife is in the game, they have a "huge" wildlife system they aren't going to talk much about right now. But the event didn't wipe out all wildlife.

    * Not willing to talk yet about different story paths, different endings, etc. They chuckled but they dont want to talk about it yet.

    * Zombie hoard was all real, no LOD tricks, there are that many people on the screen.

    * No release date or time window. They aren't wanting to do that right now.

    * It was huge for their studio to be right up there on stage, getting prime focus, along with all of Sony's other big studios. It showed them how much Sony believes in their product. It meant a lot to them.

    Using the power of PlayStation 4 and Unreal Engine 4, Bend Studio has developed a high volume of rendering and gameplay technology to deliver an incredibly realistic open world experience. Realistic weather effects, such as rain, wind, snow and day-night cycles impact the gameplay. The game’s lighting is all real-time and reacts dynamically, the way the human iris does, as players move from one location to the next.

    They're not zombies
    • According to John Garvin and Jeff Ross, respectively the creative director and game director for Days Gone, it's not a zombie game. The key difference is that the creatures in the gameplay trailer, called Freakers, are alive, and zombies are dead. There are reportedly going to be several types of Freakers, of which we saw two in the gameplay: Newts, which are the gnarly teenager Freaker class and will only attack you if you're vulnerable, and the Horde – yes, that huge churning mass counts as one thing...

    Deacon St. John
    • Days Gone's protagonist is called Deacon St. John. Deacon used to be part of the Mongrels MC, and still rocks the traditional sleeveless leather jacket with patches look. It's Deacon's skillset (being able to ride a bike; being a bit unsavory) that allowed him to survive the pandemic, and he now works as a kind of bounty hunter/mercenary – the gameplay shown was actually an example of a bounty hunt. But Deacon, we are assured, also has a profound sense of loss for his old life. He used to have a blonde girlfriend with nice smelling hair, for example.

    The motorbike is a big deal
    • Apparently your bike isn't something you can ditch any time to pick up another one at the side of the road, it's really important to your survival, not just in terms of getting around the world (it's called a 'drifter bike', which seems to be an allusion to having to ride over mixed surfaces), but also for carrying equipment. The devs went so far as to describe it as being a character in the game, although they wouldn't confirm any kind of levelling system attached to it.

    Environmental factors
    • It's actually more accurate to say that Days Gone is kind of pre–post–apocalypse that post–apocalypse; it's not set during the pandemic, but neither is it set years afterwards like, for example, Naughty Dog's famous zombie game for Sony The Last of Us. Days Gone is roughly two years out from the pandemic, so there are still a lot of sturdy buildings and, while people are starting to get organised, there are no real rules or systems in place yet.
    • Days Gone is an open world game but it's not, the devs said, a survival game. That being said, the gameplay tr
    ailer shows several bits of scavenging and rigging together makeshift weapons from what Deacon can find in the environment.

    Everyone else is an asshole
    • Ross paraphrased the idea that civilisation is only about six missed meals away from turning on each other. The devs also cited how basically every player in DayZ is an asshole, and that in Days Gone they tried to distill that into a single-player experience. Because the only people who managed to survive the pandemic were the ones willing to make tough decisions the odds are on that anyone Deacon meets in the wilderness will try and kill him for his stuff.
