    Reflectiile de la podea nu erau SSR.
    Also, consolele actuale vor avea tehnologia noua de raytracing, in care pot procesa chair si toate 3 odata (nu vor mai fi limitate ca acum la 1), sau se pot focusa cu extra putere pe 1 si bun (deci unele jocuri pot avea iluminarea globala la un nivel mai bun, sau reflexiile, samd).
    Au fost niste discutii destul de lungi pe thread-ul PS5 parca.

    Ai partial dreptate, am vazut iar analiza Digital Foundry si par sa fie raytraced reflection pe podea, dar multe obiecte sunt excluse total din reflexie. Iar in momentul in care distrugi un obiect reflectat, debris-urile din urma distrugerii nu sunt reflectate deloc. Cu toate limitarile astea, prefer SSR, chit ca se pierde iluzia in unghiul mort..



    Raytraced reflections sunt cele mai less demanding implementari de ray tracing, si cu toate asta, se pare ca pun presiune pe PS5.
    Eu ma refer la ray-traced rendering pur nu la ce avem in ziua de azi. Mai e cale lunga pana ajungem acolo..


    Nu zic ca nu arata bine Rift Apart, doar ca ar trebui sa ne temperam asteptarile.
    Progresul e pur matematic, atata poti scoate din diferenta de rasterizare dintre PS4 si PS5. Si nu e rau deloc!

    Focusul ar trebui sa fie insa pe acel SSD, acolo e o noutate, nu un progres de la ceva existent.

    A note on 30fps vs 60fps:

    It’s not as simple as you think.

    When we render at 60fps we have ~16ms per frame to do our rendering.

    A large chunk of that frame budget is basic expense: polygon and material costs. Let’s say, for example, in a dense scene we are looking at 10ms frame cost just for the basics.

    That leaves us 6ms for things like ambient occlusion, screen space reflections, subsurface scattering, particle effects, bloom, and other post processing effects that make **** super pretty.

    That’s not a lot of budget.

    But what happens when we drop down to 30fps?

    We now have ~33ms per frame for rendering. We have the same base 10ms cost, but now we have 23ms for the pretty ****.

    That’s almost FOUR TIMES the budget for advanced rendering features.

    Games running at 60fps make significant sacrifices to rendering quality in order to achieve the higher frame rate.

    It’s not a magic button we push to suddenly get double the FPS.

    If the gameplay works at 30fps, it often makes sense to aim for 30fps with better rendering.

    With Uncharted 4, our multiplayer ran at 60fps, but to achieve that we had to turn off almost all of the advanced rendering features, with less particle effects, no (or heavily limited) dynamic light sources, and minimal post processing.

    It made sense to run MP at 60fps because the gameplay felt better. But SP plays great at 30fps and looks so much prettier. If we’d shipped with 60fps SP the game’s aesthetics would have suffered a lot.

    As a lighting artist a lot of frame budget and optimisation is my responsibility. I have to make sacrifices in almost every scene to get a consistent 30fps. Better hardware just means I am aiming even higher for better rendering, and I don’t see it changing any time soon.

    Sper doar ca Sony sa scoata cat mai repede echivalentul DLSS pe console, am citit ca se lucreaza la asta.

    Pai nu va fi nici o penalizare pe partea grafica. Se va scădea rezoluția si va fi urcata inapoi la 4K cu o solutie de upscaling.
    AMD are deja o metoda gen DLSS numita FidelityFX care isi face treaba foarte bine. Sincer sa fiu ma astept ca atat Sony cat si MS sa vina cu o solutie proprie de upscaling mult mai buna si decat DLSS 2.0. (Pana la urma consolele au oferit astfel de soluții prima data)
    Așadar variante sunt, prin care se poate ajunge la 60fps, fara sa se penalizeze nimic pe partea grafica.

    Interestingly, from talking about the story, Smith seemingly suggests that the female (and, as of writing, unnamed) Lombax may actually be a Ratchet from another dimension, thus creating a kind of Ratchet and Clank multiverse. You could read into the fact that at the end of the gameplay trailer, the female Lombax doesn't question for a moment who Clank is, but rather questions why he's calling her Ratchet. Of course, go deep into the lore and canonically female Lombax don't have tails, whereas our new playable heroine does.

    "I will say that in the dimension that Ratchet is from and that we are used to, that very well could be a rule of Lombax physiology," laughs Smith when I ask him about it, although he says the team isn't ready to start talking about the intricacies of her character or how she'll play just yet.     Insomniac is also utilising various features of the new DualSense PS5 controller to add more dimensions to its weapons. From being able to control the individual shotgun round releases with a half- or full-trigger press, to the additional haptic control, Daly and Smith both joke that "it feels like the PS5 controller was designed with Ratchet and Clank weapons in mind".

    "The fact that we can layer haptics as a new channel of feedback over everything, all parts of core gameplay stand up," explains Daly. "For example, for traversal, now you get this extra layer of feedback when you attach to a grind rail or switch, or if there's a huge car incoming. You get that extra layer of feedback when you swing on a swing shot. You can sort of feel his acceleration, and the wind blowing past. It just gives you an enhanced sense of velocity that you don't fully realise just from the visuals and the audio. So it enhances traversal, and it greatly enhances weapons. It enhances the UI – just all parts of it feel a little bit better than they ever have before, just thanks to this new, ever-present thing." [...]

    Asta ziceam si eu, sper sa implementeze ceva upscalling in 60fps mode, ca pana acum nu a existat asa ceva pe generatia actuala (adica aveam upscalling in 30fps mode vreau sa zic), ori scadeau rezolutia ori eliminau efecte grafice, ori aveai unlocked fps, dar nu locked 60.



    Si un 4K60 checkerboard ar fi super ok pentru Rift Apart.

    Si eu sunt pentru SSR sincer - ma deranjeaza mult prea putin in raport cu performanta.
    Oricum probabil este mult mai consuming sa dai sa se reflecte si particulele (deci alpha effects) iar bucatile de armura de la inamici am avut impresia ca se reflectau, in schimb mediul inconjurator care este destructibil nu se reflecta.

    Sunt foarte scumpe jocurile pt ps5. Nu prea cred ca se vor ieftini degraba atata timp cat cererea pentru console e atat de mare. Pana la urma cine da 6000 de lei pe o consola poate da si 400 pe un joc.

    Ai fi mirat cât de repede se ieftinesc, mai ales cum sunt oferte peste oferte. În perioada sarbatorilor aș fi putut să cumpăr Miles Morales + Demons Souls cu o reducere de 100 lei per joc, mai puneam 70 de lei si imi cumparam un al 3-lea joc, fata de cat am dat pe ele in Noiembrie.

    Pai reducere de 100 lei per joc = 300 lei jocul, ceea ce tot este mult - este pretul day 1 al unui joc normal, sau putin peste (unele fiind 280 day 1).

    Sunt scumpe rău, si cu reducere de 100 de ron tot scumpe sunt la 300 ron! Nu am mai cumpărat day one un joc de la Uncharted 2 in coace, nu merită!! TLOU2 l-am jucat la nu mult timp după lansare fiindcă l-am prin pe OLX la mine in oras la 180ron. Nu stiu unde le sta capul cu preturile astea.
    Nu m-am aruncat nici să-mi iau PS5 fiindcă inca chiar nu merita, ce sa joc pe noua consola, jocuri de PS4 in 60fps vs 30fps? Cam dezamăgitoare industria gamingului in ultimii ani! PS4 a fost slăbuț rău in materie de jocuri pe lângă PS3 iar la ce start a avut PS5 is curios pe cand vom avea ceva demn de jucat, ceva next gen nu jocuri de telefoane.

    Iar developerii care lucreaza la Ratchet nu ziceau ca jocul va ti lansat during the PS5 launch window? Pai Iunie va fi la 8 luni de la data de lansare a consolei. Probabil GOW si HZD2 le vedem la anul candva.

    Pentru mine chiar merita un PS5 in momentul de fata. Ce jocuri a avut PS4 la lansare, Killzone si Infamous?
    As da oricand acele 2 jocuri pe Demon Souls Remake si Spiderman MM, ca sa nu mai spun ca acel joc gratuit de PS5 (Astro Playroom) este atat de fun si de bine facut incat as fi platit oricand 40$ ca sa-l cumpar ca si joc standalone.

    Adaugam apoi toate jocurile enhanced la 60fps care este un pas absolut colosal fata de 30 fps si feeling-ul de a te juca pe PS5, in special datorita controlerului DualSense.
    Mie mi s-a parut o experienta atat de cool in Astro incat am imprumutat Call of Duty BOCW de la un prieten si am jucat cap coada campania pe PS5. It's that game changer.

    In modul, eu chiar cred ca merita luat un PS5 atata timp cat il iei la pretul corect, ca altfel n-ar mai avea threadul asta 10K de vizitatori zilnic.
    Referitor la jocuri, sunt total de acord ca 400 RON este un pret prohibitiv in momentul de fata.
