Anti-cheat software BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat have confirmed they will support Valve's handheld Steam Deck.

BattlEye - which is used in games like Destiny 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG - announced that as well as running on Linux and MacOS, it also supports Wine and Proton, the latter of which is used in Steam's upcoming handheld device.

"BattlEye has provided native Linux and Mac support for a long time and we can announce that we will also support the upcoming Steam Deck (Proton)," BattlEye announced on Twitter (thanks, PC Gamer). "This will be done on an opt-in basis with game developers choosing whether they want to allow it or not."

It's an important message, not least because anti-cheat and anti-piracy measures - such as Capcom's infamous DRM system, which is behind Resident Evil Village's stuttering issues on PC - can seriously affect a game's performance.

Easy Anti-Cheat - used in games like Apex Legends and Halo - is also expected to run without issue on Steam Deck.

A couple of weeks back, Bungie warned that Destiny 2 PC players may notice an impact on their game's performance following the addition of the same anti-cheat software that rolled out alongside update 3.3.0.

"Anti-cheat solutions require some additional system resources to keep watch and you may see some reduction in frames and performance after Update 3.3.0 goes live," Bungie wrote. "The new service will also increase the initial startup of the game."

The launch of Steam Deck will be delayed by two months. We’re sorry about this—we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren’t reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates.

Based on our updated build estimates, Steam Deck will start shipping to customers February 2022. This will be the new start date of the reservation queue—all reservation holders keep their place in line but dates will shift back accordingly. Customers will have 3 days (72 hours) from receipt of their order email to make their purchase, before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue. The first units will be on their way to customers starting the 28th, and we plan to release new order email batches on a weekly cadence.

Mi-am primit si eu Deck-ul (64 GB). Am mai luat un card microSD pe care instalez jocuri. Sunt impresionat, not gonna lie. Ma joc Mad Max la 60 FPS fara nici un compromis pe grafica. Ca minusuri - ventilatorul e destul de zgomotos si bateria tine doar 2-3 ore la un joc mai intensiv. Din fericire, portul USB-C e in partea de sus, deci nu e deloc incomod sa te joci cu el in priza.

Legat de compatibilitatea software, e loc de imbunatatire. Din vreo 500 de jocuri pe care le am pe Steam, 67 sunt Steam Verified, si inca pe atatea Playable. Restul, combinatie de Unsupported si Untested. Imi apar insa zilnic 1-2 titluri noi in lista de Verified, deci se lucreaza la asta.

Mai are cineva? Care va sunt experientele?

Pot sa confirm ca modul ala de 40Hz e genial. Jocurile inca ruleaza foarte bine, miscarea e fluida, dar bateria tine semnificativ mai mult, iar cel mai important pentru mine, ventilatorul este muuuult mai putin zgomotos in modul asta.

Am comandat si eu astazi modelul 64 GB (2126 lei) , acum am tip de astepare 2 saptamani cica . Pana atunci imi puteti recomanda si mie un micro SD de 512 , dar la un pret normal . Multumesc , o sa revin cu poze cand imi ajunge in tara jucaria , sper sa nu am probleme cu pachetul sa se joace fotbal cu el
