We teed up a comparison against the RTX 2060 earlier, but the 3050 doesn't quite deliver on that front. The older card remains the better performer overall, winning in every game we tested and only tying in Battlefield 5 RTX, and should probably be your first choice if you don't need HDMI 2.1 connectivity and both cards are available at a similar price.

However, the RTX 3050 does represent a reasonable upgrade over the $229 GTX 1660 Super, offering around 10 percent better rasterised performance and RT/DLSS capabilities that the GTX card doesn't possess.

Against Team Red, the $249 3050 is in an odd place. It comprehensively beats the $199 RX 6500 XT in most games, with only a few titles showing a value lead for the much-maligned AMD GPU, and performs significantly better at 1440p. In terms of RT performance, the 3050 is a god compared to the 6500 XT, often delivering 2.5 times the frame-rate at 1440p. It also possesses hardware encoding and decoding capabilities left out of the 6500 XT, and works well even on PCIe 3.0 systems - like our test rig.

The 3050 is also much cheaper than the $329 RX 6600, but also performs well below it in rasterised games. It does draw level in RT titles even without DLSS, so depending on your purposes it might be the better value option there.

So overall then - if you can get it at a reasonable price, the RTX 3050 gets a cautious nod from us. It delivers good-enough performance at 1080p and 1440p, has a complete feature set and avoids any major disaster - not bad.

Am incercat DLDSR-ul in unele jocuri si pot sa zic ca m-a impresionat destul de placut. Jocuri pe care le jucam la 100fps in 1080p acum le pot juca cu downsample la 1440p sau 1620p fara sa pierd mai mult de 10-15% din fps. Thumbs up for me.

E disperata situatia in tabara Nvidia.

YouTube channel, Moore's Law is Dead (opens in new tab), has cited sources at Nvidia's graphics card partners as being exasperated with the amount of stock still in the channel, suggesting that "Nvidia underestimated how desperate we were getting." They have reportedly refused to keep buying current-gen GeForce chips until they can sell their current inventories of graphics cards and are "willing to risk Lovelace [the next-gen Nvidia GPU codename] allocation if they threaten us."
Exemplu 1, Exemplu 2.

Nvidia e intr-o pozitie delicata acum.

EVGA Terminates NVIDIA Partnership, Cites Disrespectful Treatment:
EVGA has terminated its relationship with NVIDIA. EVGA will no longer be manufacturing video cards of any type, citing a souring relationship with NVIDIA as the cause (among other reasons that were minimized).

EVGA will not be exploring relationships with AMD or Intel at this time, and the company will be downsizing imminently as it exits the video card market.

Customers will still be covered by EVGA policies, but EVGA will no longer make RTX or other video cards.

The company already made ~20 EVT samples of EVGA RTX 4090 FTW3 cards, but will not be moving to production and has killed all active projects pertaining to cards -- including KINGPIN cards.

NOTE/small correction: EVGA notified NVIDIA in June, not April. They had misstated the original timeline.

In terms of the RTX 4080 FE reviewed here, I love the form factor, I love the near-silent operation and the actual experience of playing games on a 4K 120Hz TV with G-Sync is excellent - it may not have quite the wow factor of the RTX 4090, but it's still highly impressive.

However, the price premium is difficult to justify with pressure coming from so many different directions: from legacy GA102 Ampere cards, from the upcoming AMD RX 7900 products - and astonishingly, even from the RTX 4090.
