I finally picked up Star-Lord’s Helmet (76251) after sitting on the fence for a while — I wasn’t sure if I’d love it, especially compared to the other Marvel helmet sets. But after building it… yeah, I think it might be one of the most fun ones in the whole line.
The build is smooth and well-paced, with some cool techniques used for the mask shape and the headphone-like pieces on the sides. The color palette really pops in person — that mix of dark red and gold, plus the metallic silver, gives it a nice Guardians feel.
I know some people weren’t into the fact that it’s hollow (no back of the helmet), but honestly, it doesn’t bother me. It still looks awesome on display, especially from the front and sides.
I ended up placing a small LED inside the headpiece just to give the eyes a subtle glow at night — nothing fancy, but it definitely gives it more character. It now lives next to my Iron Man and Venom heads, and it fits right in.
If you’re a fan of the MCU or Guardians of the Galaxy, this one’s worth adding to the shelf. Anyone else light theirs up or do a custom display base?
