Let's see what this baby can do.
I'm testing game performance on the Ouya console.
I downloaded a bunch of android games off of apkgiant.com.
This is the developers console and prototype, so out of the box it doesn't really come with anything other than a few dev tools and a test game.
As you can see, the performance is not perfect. A few frame drops here and there, but for what it is- it doesn't suck at all.
The Ouya console comes with 8 gig of flash storage, which I can already see is not enough.
It comes with 1 gig of ram and a Tegra 3, so I'm glad I can upgrade it.
Once I receive the retail console in March, I'll upgrade everything :)
This is an okay console. Great for emulators and perfect as a smart tv.
But if you are a gamer, this is not a console for you unless you love to customize and upgrade things. If that's your thing, then this is the perfect toy for you.
So far it doesn't have a menu button or function, so that's stupid.
The touchpad on the controller is okay. No multi-touch or the ability to drag and drop.
I tried to play Bejeweled with it.
So hopefully they'll be able to fix that.
As you can see at the beginning, the operating system (Android) can be a bit lagy and jerky from time to time.
Although they will upgrade to Jelly Bean, which is faster and more lightweight.
All in all, worth a buy. And when they release this console, it'll hopefully have tons of great games.
