EA Has 'Nothing to Report' on Battlefield 3 and Steam Deal
Shortly after reports that a deal between Electronic Arts and Valve was close to being made, in regards to the appearance of Battlefield 3 on Steam, EA has released a statement saying that there's "nothing to report" about the issue.
Battlefield 3 is set to be distributed digitally on the PC only through EA's Origin service, because specific DLC terms and conditions prevent Valve from accepting it on its Steam platform. A deal was reported to be almost signed which would allow the game to appear, but has now been denied.
"There's really nothing to report. We've got a strong relationship with Valve, but we don't have anything new to announce on this,� said an EA spokesperson to Industry Gamers.
As such, seeing as how Battlefield 3 is almost ready for release, on October 25, in North America, and 28, in Europe, it's less and less likely that it's going to appear on Steam.
