Microsoft to replace "a small number" of extra-noisy Xbox Ones

In the grand pantheon of human evils, owning an Xbox One that's a mite too loud probably doesn't rank very high, but it is at least a problem you can fix. Microsoft has told Kotaku that it will replace untowardly noisy specimens free of charge, following complaints about this on official forums.

The issue appears to be related to the Xbox One's recent roll-out to new markets in Europe and Asia - it doesn't appear to affect consoles that went on sale last November. Microsoft's statement is below.

We have heard that a small number of Xbox One owners in some situations may hear a noise from the console that is too loud. While this does not affect the safety or functionality of the system, we're asking customers who believe they are experiencing this issue to contact Xbox Support: Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support. At the request of our customers, we are exchanging those consoles for new systems.
Hope you're not afflicted!
