What is a sub account?

It’s a PSN account for children. If you would prefer not to allow your children access to PSN, you can make a local user for them. Local users allow children to use the PS4 offline and they won’t be able to access PSN.
  1. Allow PSN access now or later.
  • Waiting until later is a good option if you want to let them play on the PS4 straight away but want to take some time to look into parental controls. You can also block a local user from joining PSN in the Sub Account Management menu.
  • Choose wait until later if you don’t want to allow your children to play online at all. Their account won’t be authorised for PSN access unless you sign in with your account to allow it.
  • If you allow PSN now you can choose sub account parental controls to limit PSN access.
