    • They consider this to be a new game instead of a remake and that they "did this to give back to the fans"
    • They wanted to bring out the youthfulness of Leon and said that he's "not a hero yet"
    • When designing Leon, they wanted him to fit into the ''new world'' and went through multiple variations when designing him
    • The devs actually used the same photogrammetry technology that RE7 used to scan real life versions Leon and Claire's outfits in order to model them in the game
    • Claire is described as a "biker ninja"
    • There were more discussions about how to reimagine Claire than there were about reimagining Leon. They decided "we ultimately had to ditch the hot pants". The defining factor of this was the introduction scene and "what makes sense for that"
    • The RE engine allowed them to add to the environment and the characters (lighting, detail, rain)
    • Zombies are considered main characters in this game. Lots of reimagining was done to make sure they would stand out
    • They didn't want zombies to just be a target but an actual threat
    • Some of the zombies are actually modelled after the dev team!
    • The Goddess statue and the desk in the main hall were moved to the front as they "wanted players to be lead into the puzzle"
    • While they were trying to be photo realistic, they also wanted to be hyper stylised as well through the use of colour
    • They compared the old key art with the new key art as inspiration to make sure they were paying homage while also keeping its own identity
