Intr-un episod IGN Unlocked din iunie 2019, Rod Fergusson spunea ca "[...] Tactics will probably make it's way to console, [...] it's more of a PC first thing [...]" (min. 17).
Anuntul oficial din partea Microsoft din decembrie 2019:
Developed exclusively for PC, Gears Tactics launches on April 28, 2020 on the Windows Store and Steam and will be available the same day with Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta).
Acum in aprilie 2020 il anunta si pentru consola, fara data exacta de lansare.
