Shinji Mikami lucreaza la un proiect, dezvaluit in revista Famitsu. Acesta se numeste Krieg, razboi in limba germana. Actiunea va avea loc pe Pamant, doar ca Terra s-a schimbat. Dupa mii de ani de exploatare, natura se trezeste si lupta impotriva omului. Metropolele sunt invadate de plante tropicale, iar multe dintre animalele planetei au suferit mutatii. Titlul trebuia sa fie lansat pe Nintendo Wii, dar intre timp a devenit exclusiv PS3. In 2010 va fi lansat un alt titlu produs de Shinji Mikami, Vanquish.

- The title Krieg is a German word meaning "war, conflict, clash," but is also used to define "cool" German metal bands that have a large role in the soundtrack.
- Mikami's backstory reveals a first title.
