Bad news everyone! The Desire HD and Desire Z have had their launches put back, but at least it's only by a few weeks. Various online stores are reporting that two HTC handsets failed to win approval from Google, the reason not being given. Whilst Android is indeed an open system, manufactures have to appease the gods at the Googleplex if they want to put a Google logo on their handset or use Google's services. Interestingly enough the same thing happened when HTC was getting ready to launch the original Desire. The Desire essentially being a re-badged Nexus One.
