The new details tell us that this is roughly set during Batman’s second year of crimefighting, with the game planned to play exactly the same as Batman: Arkham City — seeing as the development team were given all of Rocksteady’s assets to work with. The game’s setting is largely played during a snowstorm and the game’s detective mode and gadget upgrade progression tree has been largely overhauled. Enemies will be capable of taking ‘advantage of the verticality’ of New Gotham, and a ‘Most Wanted’ addition allows you to select mini-campaign side missions which will include other big villains from the Batman series.

With the development team citing the Legends of the Dark Knight comic book series as the primary source of inspiration for the game, they aim to make Batman scary again, believing themselves to have made ‘the coolest version of Deathstroke’ as a counterpart to Batman.
