Free-to-play titles have become increasingly common of late, particularly on PC. PlayStation 3 also has a couple of games which use the free-to-play business model, such as Free Realms and the Japanese title Angel Love Online.

Sony’s upcoming handheld PS Vita looks set to support freemium games from the outset judging by the launch title Browser Sangokushi Next. This port of the browser-based strategy game will be available as a free download on PS Vita’s Japanese launch - December 17th - and will be supported by microtransactions via the PlayStation Store.

Any news is good news when it comes to a highly anticipated launch platform release, right? Recently we posted the case size and style of the PS Vita, but some new photos have delivered a step further to give us an inside peak to the handhelds casing.

As a promotional effort for Sony�s upcoming handheld, Japanese retailers are receiving empty boxes for PS Vita launch titles. With the expectation that players may need to swap memory cards to keep their save data organized, the cases will be designed to hold a Memory Stick PRO-Duo as well.

The idea behind a handheld is to not encumber the player with objects needed to play, and with my personal history with Gameboys and the PSP, I would restrict myself to one game precisely so I wouldn�t have to carry cases around. Regardless, this will still prove convenient for long distance traveling. Fill up the comments with your thoughts.

Carduri de memorie intre 30 si 120 euro !!!

Cei interesati sa-si cumpere un PS Vita trebuie sa aibe in vedere si astfel de cheltuieli, mai ales ca jocurile vor fi disponibile și �n format digital iar un card ieftin de 4G (32G maxim) s-ar putea dovedi insuficient.
Nu uitati, cardurile vor fi produse exclusiv de Sony !

asa ar trebui sa fie peste tot. Ma enerveaza cand vad jocuri in format digital la acelasi (sau aproape acelasi) pret ca si jocurile in format fizic. that's bull****. Asta pe mine cel putin nu m-a va convinge sa cumpar in format digital. Dar in schimb daca jocul costa 23$ in loc de 40$ atunci sunt sanse foarte mari sa renunt la un joc in format fizic
