The attention to detail on the environments alone is highly impressive, everything is highly polished and detailed. Even down to the simple objects that make up the environment. The texture work is some of the best I've seen in any game it's all really high quality and impressive. And Yes, I have played Gears of War 2 and while that game had amazing environments and beautiful textures, this game just seems to edge it out with sharper and cleaner looking textures.
