Skype may be one of the Xbox One’s most prominent features, but that’s not stopping Microsoft from considering a PlayStation 4 version of the popular application. Chatting with the BBC as part of the video conferencing tool’s tenth anniversary, corporate vice president Mark Gillett explained that the company is still committed to cross-platform support, despite the obvious implications of enhancing a competitor’s product.
"We've worked with Sony for a long time," he explained. "Skype ships today on the PlayStation Portable among other cross-platform devices that we deliver to, and for the last few years we've also been shipping versions of Skype that run on Sony TVs. We're obviously not party to their pre-release [PlayStation] hardware road map [but] we're committed to cross-platform.”
Should the PS4 eventually score Skype features, it would allow users of the competing consoles to communicate directly. Considering that the software is already available on the PlayStation Vita, we reckon that this is an eventual inevitability. There’ll probably be some heated meetings within Microsoft before the papers get signed, though.

Sony Confirms That You Will Be Able to Talk to Your PS4 - Push Square

You’re officially going to be able to talk to your PlayStation 4 console and get some kind of response. Following on from this morning’s reports, a Sony representative has told us that the next generation console will support voice recognition via the refreshed PlayStation Eye – but stopped short of sharing any further information.
An updated Amazon.com product page hinted at the functionality earlier today, stating that the camera will unlock “navigational voice controls”. The spokesperson that we talked to could only confirm the inclusion of voice recognition, but given the aforementioned description, it seems likely that you’ll be using the device to jump around the system’s interface in a similar manner to the Xbox One.
We’re sure that the platform holder will share more details nearer to launch. While the company opened its recent GamesCom press conference with a demonstration of the dashboard, we’re still yet to get a detailed look at the interface in action. With just a few months until release, though, we’re confident that the firm will provide a full walkthrough in due time.

Cea mai buna veste pentru mine... desi multi vor spune ca sunt nebun sa stau sa instalez 25-50GB pe HDD... Macar am optiunea asta daca vreau, pentru ca pana acum au spus clar ca nu se va putea instala tot jocul pe HDD. Pacat ca nu merge pe external drives insa

Si eu iar zic ca HDD de 500G e prea mic. Mai ales ca serviciul Plus(pe care cred ca o sa-l aiba majoritatea pentru multiplayer) va oferi la randul lui multe jocuri gratuite. Si in anii ce vor urma, avand in vedere performantele PS4-ului, jocurile vor fi din ce in ce mai mari.
