Portal 2 requires mandatory PS3 firmware 3.60 update | N4G
Valve’s upcoming release, Portal 2 is the first game to require an mandatory install of PS3 Firmware 3.60, which was released back in March. This means that you won’t be able to play the game on any earlier installed firmware.
Portal PS3 And Steam Code Can Be Used Separately*|*Just Push Start
With Portal 2 releasing in just a few days on the PS3, a lot of gamers are wondering the limitations that they might have on the FREE Steam copy packed with the game.
Every brand new PS3 copy will include a voucher code inside the game. The question is, does this mean that I can give this to a friend that has Steam account so that we can play together? Yes, the Steam voucher code that is included in your PS3 copy will act as a stand-alone game.
When you get the voucher code, you can do whatever you want with it: you can sell it to get your money back, or give to a friend. The code isnt DRMd or bound to you, so giving it to a friend is quite possibly the best option as it will allow you guys to play the co-op with each other.
Its much like a buy one get one free deal. The code to download via Steam is only available for the PS3 version of Portal 2.
portal 2 : single player at least 10 hours
In comparison to the first game, which was bundled as part of the Orange Box alongside Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2, the second game is considerably longer, running at somewhere (for us, at least) between ten and eleven hours.
The first game took about three and a half hours to get through, which puts Valves claims of the sequel being around two to three times longer at almost pinpoint accuracy.

Portal 2 DLC will be free - GameSpot
Asa DA!Earlier this week, Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi revealed that the company's recently released Portal 2 would be getting its first batch of downloadable content this summer. Today the developer gave a few details on the DLC, most notably that it would be free of charge to all players.
Valve is having even more fun with science.
The first Portal 2 DLC pack will feature new test chambers, as well as single-player and cooperative multiplayer challenge modes. The pack will also add leaderboards, and be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac versions of the game.
The free DLC for consoles marks a change from Valve's last project. With Left 4 Dead and its sequel, add-ons were free for PC but $7 on Xbox 360.
Behind-the-scenes book of Portal 2 now available on Steam | VG247
Great newsWe all know that Valve makes great games – but now the company has dabbled in making great books, too. Portal 2 – The Final Hours is a digital tome that will give you an “unvarnished look” behind the scenes on Valve’s most recent puzzler.
Written by journalist Geoff Keighley, the book takes you deep within the top-secret studio, giving an unprecedented “fly on the wall” perspective of the game.
Described as a “staggering 15,000 word multimedia experience”, Keighley details the Portal prequel that was axed before it was even announced, the last minute scramble to complete the game’s story mode, and all the other fun and adventures that makes up a game’s development process.
The book also features exclusive photos, interviews with the staff, videos, interactive experiences (including “How Portals Work” and a 360-degree panorama of the Valve offices). Promisingly, the official description also features “other surprises”.
For US$1.99 at time of writing, we think that’s a surprise we can afford to enjoy via Steam – or, if you’d prefer, you can grab the digital book for your iDevice through the App Store.
