Kojima confirms Metal Gear Solid 5 - Gematsu
Oh Kojima, you're such a tease.Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima has confirmed development on Metal Gear Solid 5 to the twentieth issue (June / July) of the French IG Magazine.
“There will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 with the new FOX Engine,” confirmed Kojima (via Google Translate), “but what we’ve shown was not gameplay, or anything like that. It was only a demo that we had developed internally and released because the lighting and interactions with the environment had fooled everyone.”
Kojima continued: “About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you “a favor” like in the last Metal Gear Solid. I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see. And if I say more, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door, I will be carved up into pieces. So it’s better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5.”
Kojima also touched upon Metal Gear Rising, reiterating that it is not a Solid Snake title, but rather an offshoot that does something new.
“Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never claimed to be a Metal Gear Solid. This is not a game about our beloved Solid Snake. It is a spinoff that tries something different. We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”

Games Movies Music Anime: Metal Gear Solid 5, MGS5 could be set in Africa, Baby Snake?The latest edition of PSM3 magazine has released some rather juicy info regarding the next entry in the Metal Gear Franchise. Apparently it will be set in 1970s Africa, Big Boss will star and we may even witness the birth of baby Solid Snake.
The Kojima Productions site itself 'hides' another image of Big Boss with a 'Diamond Dogs' logo on his shoulder, which Dawkins claims is a reference to both the 1974 David Bowie album Diamond Dogs (Kojima being a confirmed Bowie fan), but, more importantly, the diamond mines of Angola, against which some of the action could be set.
Previously, characters such as Frank Jaeger aka Cyborg Ninja and Big Boss himself have all been revealed as having links to the continent via countries like South Africa, Rhodesia (ne� Zimbabwe) and Mozambique, further reinforcing Africa's importance to MGS canon. Reports are coming in that Metal Gear Solid 5 has just been announced at Comic-Con.
“The moment we were cast out of heaven,” the screenshot says, with some suggesting this is to with Big Boss, “we became monsters.”
The text next to the logo reads “Open Ground Reconnaissance Endeavour.”
We’re currently following this up now, Konami’s PR declined to comment at the time of publication. There’s a chance it was a “behind closed doors” event, or – of course – it could be completely fake.
Konami has denied rumors that Metal Gear Solid 5 was revealed at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend, calling them fake on its UK Twitter account today.
Earlier this morning, some Redditors claimed that Konami had announced the fifth installment in its popular stealth-action series during Comic Con, posting the above image as proof.
"Fake or real, we love a bit of speculation!" Konami said on its UK Twitter account later this morning, posting a link to the Reddit thread.

Of course, that would mean KojiPro is working on two open world games at the same time, which seems insane.
