Facebook cumpara WhatsApp

Avem o stire interesanta pe ziua de azi. Doua mari nume pe scena de social media si messaging, Facebook si WhatsApp, vor fuziona. Sau, ca sa fim mai specifici, Facebook plateste echivalentul a 19 miliarde de dolari pentru "achizitia" aplicatiei WhatsApp. Pentru cei care nu stiu, WhatsApp este o platforma de messaging disponibila pe iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone si Symbian, cu peste 450 de milioane de useri activi.

Conform unei postari pe site-ul WhatsApp, aceasta achizitie nu va schimba cu nimic modul de lucru al aplicatiei... si aceasta va functiona in continuare in mod autonom si independent. Practic Facebook plateste 4 miliarde de dolari cash, 12 miliarde de dolari in actiuni Facebook, plus alte 3 miliarde de dolari in actiuni speciale pentru fondatori si angajati. Si face acest lucru doar pentru a detine WhatsApp. Vom vedea pe viitor ce efecte va avea acest lucru, sau daca cumva se va ajunge la o integrare WhatsApp direct in Facebook.

Era o singura cifra gresita... Am scris 19 milioane in loc de 19 miliarde. Deh, asa-mi trebuie daca stau sa scriu stiri la 4 dimineata

Oricum, si voi rautaciosi... am scris mai jos corect ca e vorba de 4 miliarde + 12 miliarde + 3 miliarde. Impreuna sigur faceau tot miliarde, nu milioane. Dar lasa ca va tin eu minte... ma duc sa-mi dezinstalez WhatsApp de suparare

P.S. Btw, cred ca din graficul acesta se poate vedea foarte clar de ce a cumparat Facebook-ul asa ceva.

Facebook a cumparat Wazzzaaaa pentru poze. Asa au facut si cu instagram si cu Snapchat (am scris instagram cu i mic de hipstereala). Momentan, cel mai mare "trafic" de poze se face pe WhatsApp, in jur de 500 de milioane de poze sunt procesate zilnic. Mai mult decat cele 400 de pe Snapchat si 350 de pe Facebook. Tot de milioane e vorba.

A realizat si Zuckerberg ca oricine poate veni cu noul Facebook. Asta e motivul pentru care i-a fost frica si de cele de mai sus si le-a cumaprat, iar acum a facut acelasi lucru. Plus ca acolo unde Facebook se chinuie, pe mobile, acolo are WhatsApp cel mai mare succes.

Miscarea e buna. A dat contravaloarea a 10% din Facebook pentru a-si creste valoarea cu aproape 50%. A pretty good deal
