    Zvon: Prey 2 va fi anulat

    Dupa ce Bulletstorm 2 a fost aruncat la cosul de gunoi se pare ca in curand si Prey 2 va urma acelasi drum nefast. PSFocus a raportat pe 23 Martie 2012 ca Bethesda, publisherul jocului, a renuntat la conferinta de presa, pe care studioul partener Human Head Studios urma sa o sustina la Game Developer Conference. Nu doar atat, dar prezentarea celor de la Human Head a fost amanata cu saptamani bune inainte de GDC, insa ei de abia in ziua evenimentului au facut acest lucru public. Uite ca acum suntem in 11 Aprilie si Bethesda nu a oferit nicio explicatie, dar cel mai probabil in curand vom citi un comunicat de presa prin care anularea jocului va fi confirmata.

    Eu pot spune sincer ca ma bucur. Jocul nu semana absolut deloc cu primul din serie si probabil ca as fi fost de acord cu el daca ar fi aparut sub un alt nume.

    Voi [astia mai batrani] va mai aduceti aminte de Prey, de conceptul original pentru Prey, cu vreo 11 ani inainte sa iasa caricatura aia care a iesit? Si acum mai tin minte in Game Over capturile de ecran, era in vremea lui DOOM si Unreal si se vroia ceva senzational. Ce a iesit a fost total diferit de conceptul initial al jocului. Cine mai tine minte sa ridice doua degete in sus si sa spuna - UNDE-S VREMURILE CAND SE FACEAU JOCURI?

    @Eagle-eye: Dude, chiar dacă nu are legătură cu primul Pray jocul arată incredibil, o gură de aer �n oceanul ăsta de FPS-uri militare scriptate-n draci.

    N-ar strica sa preia altcineva,probabil Bethesda a renuntat deoarece producatorii nu au vrut ca jocul sa fie text based precum Skyrim

    Fix asta vroiam sa scriu eu si apoi ti-am vazut postul. Deh, joc scris in asamblare, lumini dinamice in timp real, cica "id sofware si-ar fi bagat unghia in gat". Culmea ironiei ca Prey-ul care a aparut pana la urma a folosit un engine de la id software

    Daca aparea la vremea lui ar fi rupt tot, tin minte cum salivam la screenshoturile in care se vedeau luminile colorate, texurile superbe...

    Totusi da-mi voie sa te corectez un pic. Nu prea are sens sa spui "in vremea lui DOOM si Unreal", Doom e din 93, Unreal e din 98, sunt totusi 5 ani diferenta, e cam mult. Jocul trebuia sa apara prin 97, cel tarziu 98 si sa "sparga" engine-ul pe care era bazat Quake1. Insa au prins o perioada foarte proasta, au scris aproape tot jocul in ASM si render software si fix atunci intra puternic pe piata Voodoo1. Daca-l porneau un pic mai rapid si-l scoteau in 96 sau la inceputul lui 97 (deodata cu Quake) probabil ca ar fi devenit o legenda.

    Cred ca tu vorbesti de Into the Shadow. Care era scris 99% in assembler si se vorbea de el prin 95. El trebuia sa fie un concurent pentru QUAKE, ca si motor grafic. Aducea iluminarea din 2 respectiv 3 surse de lumina, ceea ce era o premiera pentru vremea aia.

    Scria in Game Over pe atunci ca producatorii - TRITON [cei care ulterior au pus bazele Starbreeze si au lansat The Chronicles of Riddick] au folosit limbajul de asamblare in defavoarea C-ului, pe cand ID foloseau versiunea de Windows a celebrului GCC.



    “Into The Shadows” was a fighting game (not RPG as a lot of people believe) in development by Triton, an ex demo group from Sweden, active on the PC demo scene in the early-to-mid 1990s. Triton were previously known for the popular demo “Crystal Dream 2″, as well as the FastTracker / FastTracker II music editing applications. The game was to be published by Scavenger, who were also made up of many ex demo team developers.
    The non-interactive demo shown in the video clip, was released in 1995, and the engine was considered superior to the Quake engine – showing realtime shadows, and aimed at running well on lower spec hardware (486 processor, compared to Quake requiring a Pentium to run at a playable speed).
    Unfortunately, the game was cancelled around late 1997 / early 1998, when Scavenger went bankrupt.
    In 1998, some members of Triton formed Starbreeze Studios, who merged with O3 Games in 2000. They later went on to create games such as “The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay” and “The Darkness”.
    Prey in forma sa originala trebuia sa fie dezvoltat de 3D Realms. Nu mai gasesc capturi de ecran, insa nu PREY era scris in assembler ci Into The Shadows.

    In 1995, the first incarnation of the game was announced. Prey was envisioned by 3D Realms as the first of a number of games to be running on unique, cutting edge game engine technology, developed in house. In this sense the project played the same role as Unreal did for Epic_Games, and it would retain this role in the company's strategy throughout its development time in the 3D Realms studios.

    Da, ai dreptate, am confundat chestia cu ASM-ul de la jocul alalalt. Nici nu stiam de trailerul asta, foarte tare, se pare ca au pastrat acelasi scenariu pana la urma. Dar nu se compara ce a ajuns jocul in final cu ce putea fi daca era lansat la vremea respectiva

    Primul Prey mi se pare un joc ce poate fi jucat si astazi fara sa ti se para ca nu poate sta langa shooterele din prezent, ba chiar e mai bun decat multe jocuri ale anului trecut. Il joc pe Xbox 360 si mi se pare o mica perla de gaming, aducea ideea de portaluri si modificare a gravitatiei intr-un mod perfect functional acum cinci ani.
