Born in Hope, Texas, Ben McCall is the eldest son of a Baptist minister. Attended seminary after high school, but was drafted and sent to Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart and honorably discharged as a Private First Class. After attending college in California, he eventually joined the LAPD. A thirty year veteran, he is a two time winner of the Medal of Valor.
