Desi Apple a mai "cochetat" in trecut cu controllere si gamepads, e pentru prima data in istoria iOS cand se ia in serios acest lucru. La WWDC-ul de anul acesta Apple a prezentat SDK-ul pentru iOS7 prin care se ofera API-uri si suport oficial pentru MFi game controllers. Exista si un template prin care se impune ca un controller sa detina un d-pad, 4 butoane, 2 analog sticks si shoulder buttons.

Exista deja multe controllere pe piata pentru device-uri iOS (pre iOS 7), insa pana acum suportul nu a fost oficial, nu existau API-uri dedicate, iar cantitatea jocurilor suportate se putea numara pe degete. Eu unul de-abia astept sa vad ce pot face, pentru ca eu consider ca Apple trebuia sa intre in piata de gaming mult mai serios (asa cum probabil ar trebui sa procedeze si Google).

Prin urmare, aici vom posta detalii despre gamepad-urile anuntate, jocurile suportate, preturi, etc...

Si deja avem prima firma care anunta un controller cu suport iOS 7: http://www.consolegames.ro/forum/f64...entru-ios-7-a/. Eu zic ca arata sublim (desi cred ca la iPad pare un pic cam ne-ergonomica amplasarea in partea de sus). Atasez si ceva imagini cu GameCase-ul, pentru a va face o idee. Jocurile The Walking Dead si Bastion au primit update pentru gamepad support: 'Walking Dead' and 'Bastion' Get Updates for iOS 7 Controller Support | Touch Arcade. Bizar, pentru ca The Walking Dead mi se pare superb cu touchscreen controll. Cred ca jocurile FPS si fighting au cea mai mare nevoie de asa ceva.

Oricum ar fi, marele avantaj este ca in sfarsit avem ecranul 100% free de butoane si degete

Un device super interesant mi se pare si asta, pare insa ca are o librarie de jocuri destul de limitata:

Fir-ar sa fie... dupa ce am scris mai bine de o ora la postul asta (listasem cam toate gamepad-urile pentru iPhone, iPad si iPod), am dat close din greseala (sau oboseala... sau prea multe tab-uri deschise). Anyway, incerc sa-mi revin si sa rescriu...

rodarkone: ideea e interesanta cu acel GameDock, insa exista multe controllere "pre iOS7"... si pentru a scoate pe TV poti sa-ti iei adaptor direct de la Apple. Din pacate, cele dinainte de iOS7 nu au suport oficial si asa cum spui tu, nu merg in toate jocurile. Voi incerca sa listez (o parte din ele, ca deja nu mai rezist) ceva gamepad-uri de care stiu eu. Insa nu trebuie uitat faptul ca daca ai jailbreak, cu ajutorul lui Blutrol poti sa-ti folosesti chiar gamepadul de la PS3 (DualShock-ul) si poti mapa "butoanele" in orice joc doresti. Din pacate insa, vor ramane pe ecran butoanele vizuale.

Cam asa este posibil sa arate noul gamepad de la Logitech pentru device-urile cu iOS (presupun ca doar pentru iPhone 5, dar nu stiu sigur).

Nu-i problema..scot chinezii si cu analog sticks Sau poate vom putea folosi un controller PS3 . Eu am reusit sa imperechez un Wiimote cu iPhone-ul insa nu face mare lucru sau nu am gasit eu jocuri compatibile ( am testat in Fifa 14 )

SteelSeries has announced their wireless iOS gaming controller, the Stratus, at CES 2014.
Available now, the device was specifically designed to be compatible with lightning-equipped iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches running iOS 7, but also works with AppleTV via AirPlay.
The Stratus, unlike the Logitech PowerShell and Moga Power Ace which both snap to your device, connects via Bluetooth and is the first controller for iOS to do so. Up to four Stratuses can connect to a single device, and they each feature a D-Pad, four action buttons, four shoulder buttons, and dual analog sticks.
On a full charge, you can get about 10 hours of battery life out of the Stratus, while it takes two hours to fully charge it back up.
What We Thought
We were able to play around with the Stratus in the IGN office recently and thought that the device was responsive and had a nice design. It felt good in our hands, and each button was reactive. For those with larger hands, the case adds a nice extra grip on the back.
That said, it is a tiny controller and those with big hands might find it a bit harder to use. We also had a some trouble getting it to work with a few games, even though it's supposed to be compatible with every game that supports a controller. Finally, while competitive with other iOS 7 controllers at $99, the price tag still seems steep.

CES: SteelSeries Announces the Stratus iOS Gaming Controller - IGN

Noi controllere pentru iOS (iPhone si iPad) sunt pe cale sa se lanseze:

Horipad se lanseaza in Noiembrie si pretul va fi undeva pe la 60$.

The Horipad is a Bluetooth extended MFi gamepad, with the full assortment of analog sticks and buttons. Unlike the CTRLi, this will have a rechargeable battery. But unlike the CTRLi and MOGA Rebel, there's no clip on the controller for an iPhone or iPad, so odds are this one will be an iPad-focued affair. It comes with a tablet stand, but it's the same kind of cheap tablet stand you can get near the cash register at a convenience store, not like the compass-style stand the MOGA controller comes with.

Mad Catz vine cu C.T.R.L.i (ce nume si-au gasit si ei) undeva in Octombrie, la pretul de 59.99$.

Godo news for anyone looking for another MFi controller option, as Mad Catz's long-awaited C.T.R.L.i is now up for pre-orders at Mad Catz's website, with orders expected to ship out in early October. The price of the controller is really interesting: $59.99, undercutting the SteelSeries Stratus and the MOGA Rebel by $20. The controller will not feature a rechargeable battery, but instead use 2 AAA batteries to power it.

There will be a clip that slides out from the rear of the controller to fit iPhones and iPod touches. The site doesn't list iPhone 6 and 6 Plus compatibility yet, but the clip should support device widths up to 3.17 inches, barely accommodating the iPhone 6 Plus' girth, albeit without a case. The MOGA Rebel's clip supports up to 3.75" width by comparison. There will be an app for checking the controller's battery life, update the firmware, and check the status of the controller's buttons and joysticks.
