Renaste BlackBerry din propria cenusa?

Declinul canadienilor de la RIM (Research In Motion) din ultima perioada, precum si vanzarile din ce in ce mai slabe pentru BlackBerry-uri, sunt lucruri arhicunoscute. La fel cum este foarte cunoscut faptul ca de ceva vreme se lucreaza la un produs si un sistem de operare care sa relanseze compania si vanzarile pe un drum mai bun. Well, astazi s-a intamplat mult asteptatul eveniment, cei de la RIM venind cu produse noi si OS 10. Insa, inainte de a trece la prezentarea produselor noi lansate, trebuie sa mentionam faptul ca tot de astazi, compania RIM devine BlackBerry. Nu stiu daca schimbarea de nume va ajuta la schimbarea perceptiei consumatorilor, dar... asta ramane de vazut.

So, internetul vuieste despre re-lansarea BlackBerry (si promit sa nu va retin si eu prea mult)... insa inainte de specificatii, as vrea sa vorbesc putin despre faptul ca RIM (errrm, BlackBerry) mizeaza totul pe "o carte"! Mai exact, prin noile smartphone-uri BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry BB10 si OS 10, este un fel de "totul sau nimic". Cu aceste produse cei de la BlackBerry practic vor incerca sa se bata cu concurenti seriosi precum iPhone 5, Galaxy S3. Haideti sa vedem daca au ce le trebuie!

Incepem cu flagship-ul: BlackBerry Z10. Acesta nu doar ca arata familiar (fata de celelalte smartphone-uri), dar vine cu ecran multitouch (fata de designul clasic RIM cu tastatura QWERTY), cu o diagonala de 4.2", rezolutie 1280 x 768 (o densitate a pixelilor de 356 ppi), are un CPU Dual Core Snapdragon S4 la 1.5Ghz, 2GB RAM, baterie de 1800mAh, slot pentru MicroSD si microSIM, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE-ready si WiFi a/b/g/n. Are o camera frontala de 2Mpx capabila de filmari video in 720p si o camera pe spate de 8Mpx capabila de filmari video in 1080p. Dimensiunile sunt 130mm x 66mm x 9.3mm cu o greutate de 138 grame. Practic, nimic iesit din comun, totul fiind un mix de aluminium si plastic. Insa cel mai important lucru, Z10 vine cu ultimul OS de la BlackBerry, OS care promite "cea mai buna experianta pe un smartphone". Asta ramane de vazut, spune scepticul din mine. Ca disponibilitate, Z10 se poate cumpara incepand de astazi in Canada, de maine in UK iar in US din Martie. Pretul momentan nu a fost dezvaluit decat in varianta "cu abonament", acesta fiind estimat undeva la 200 USD.

Continuam cu BlackBerry Q10. Acesta aduce mai mult a clasicul BlackBerry device pe care-l stiam, avand butoane fizice. Din pacate, desi acest model a fost prezentat astazi, nu va fi disponibil in magazine mai devreme de Aprilie 2013. Pe scurt, acesta are un ecran de 3.1" AMOLED multi-touch screen cu o rezolutie de 720 x 720 pixeli, un procesor Dual Core la 1.5Ghz, si ca si fratele sau mai mare, tot 2GB RAM. Pentru multi seamana cu fratele sau mai vechi (Bold 9930), insa acesta are o densitate mai mare de pixeli (360 ppi), contrast si luminozitate imbunatatite (thanks to AMOLED), precum si unghiuri de vizualizare mult mai bune. Cu o grosime de 10.3mm, acesta pare un picut mai "bulky" decat Z10, insa avand in vedere ca avem o tastatura full QWERTY, la 139 grame e chiar OK. Ramane de vazut insa cum se va comporta atunci cand va fi disponibil in magazine (repet, in Aprilie).

Si in final, cateva cuvinte despre BlackBerry OS 10. Well, aici as putea vorbi o zi intreaga, dar prefer sa urc un filmulet cu o prezentare live. Nu de alta, dar trebuie sa recunosc ca OS 10 chiar se poate bate linistit cu iOS si Android. Avem la indemana toate componentele necesare unui sistem de operare modern de smartphone... se misca fluid, si se lauda cu faptul ca de la lansare exista peste 70.000 de aplicatii "up and running" pentru OS 10.

The Z10 and BB10 represent a radical reinvention of the BlackBerry. The hardware is decent and the user interface is logical and generally easy to use. I believe it has a chance of getting RIM back into the game, if the company can attract a lot more apps…. Master BlackBerry thumb typists might not find it as fast as the traditional physical keyboard, but, for a one-finger typist like me, it was faster and more accurate than either the native keyboards on the iPhone or Android. This is partly because it features predictive typing.

The Verge:

The Z10 is a fine device, well made, reasonably priced, backed by a company with a long track record. But it’s not the only device of its kind, and it’s swimming against a massive wave of entrenched players with really, really good products… . It does everything a modern phone should do, usually without hesitation. It doesn’t do everything perfectly, but it does many things — most things — reasonably well. The problem with the Z10 is that it doesn’t necessarily do anything better than any of its competition.

Engadget:

As a replacement for older versions of BlackBerry OS, BB 10 is a huge step out of the dark ages of mobile OS design. It’s something that finally feels intended for a modern, full-touch device, yet still offers the core productivity focus we think BBID-holders will like. Does it have mainstream appeal? Yes, it does, but we’re not sure a great stock keyboard and some trick gestures are enough to unseat the current kings of mobile devices.

Darrell Etherington, TechCrunch:

With the Z10, BlackBerry has created a smartphone that’s worthy of being mentioned in the same conversation as the latest Android devices and the iPhone. That alone is an accomplishment for a company that has seemed on the verge of extinction for quite a while now…. BlackBerry 10, and by extension the Z10, need to be Cinderella stories to bring BlackBerry back from where it is now, and while extremely solid and with a few very impressive features, I’d be hard-pressed to say there’s anything here that will necessarily convince an Android-loving BlackBerry convert to come back to platform.

CrackBerry:

With the BlackBerry Z10, I can finally start walking around with just one device in my pocket without feeling like I’m missing out. BlackBerry 10 retains the best features of the BlackBerry of old, plays catch up in the OS and apps department to the competition, and with features like Hub and Flow actually push the smartphone experience further. It’s a BlackBerry that is equally good at getting work done and having fun too.

BGR:

As the software capabilities grow with a much better browser, all-touch keyboard and other features, it feels like RIM loses it’s core. The company is forced to try to reinvent the smartphone and in the process just seems to end up making an iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone competitor that isn’t as good as any of them. And in several ways, it isn’t even as good as the BlackBerry before it.

The Globe and Mail:

This is the best BlackBerry I’ve ever used. I think a lot of people will like it and some will absolutely love it… From the moment you turn this phone on, you can tell that RIM has put a lot of thought into every aspect of the device. The phone is sleek, certainly, but it isn’t that striking to look at.. But the fluid, flowing nature of the new BlackBerrys is really the main thing that sets it apart from other smartphone platforms.

CNET:

The BlackBerry 10 OS, looks terrific, and comes with many of the world-class features you’d demand from a modern OS. So it adds a few of its own signature tools for security and business users… BlackBerry lovers who can get past the rookie mistakes will find a polished-looking OS that’s packed with interesting and useful features, but happy Android and iOS users will not find a reason to switch.

Ce pot sa zic. Interesant. OS-ul pare ok, dar ramane sa vedem cum sta cu aplicatiile, chiar daca se lauda ei cu 70k. Degeaba daca 69k sunt prostii si doar maxim 1k sunt cu adevarat bune si folositoare.

Si mie imi place Z10, desi nu pot sa spun ca mi se pare o minune tehnologica. Insa, la naiba, ar trebui sa fim super multumiti (chiar si cei care nu dau 2 bani pe BlackBerry) ca exista in sfarsit o competitie serioasa! Nokia isi revine un pic, Windows 8 Mobile a mai avansat si el putin, revine si BlackBerry pe scena... sa nu uitam si de Ubuntu pentru mobile sau OS-ul Firefox. La toate acestea, daca ii adaugam in lupta pe Apple si Google (care vine cu Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola)... cum sa zic, that's a lovely fight! Doar din astfel de lupte se pot naste adevaratele inovatii... doar din concurenta acerba vom primi cat mai multe features la cat mai putini bani!

Cel mai bun exemplu la Apple. Au crescut atat de mult in vanzari si rating-uri si toate cele... incat au ajuns sa nu mai aiba concurenta (sau cel putin sa creada asta), si sa se culce pe lauri. Sa vedeti acum (ca au inceput sa scada pe bursa) ce brusc vor incepe sa apara inovatiile si lucrurile cu care ne obisnuise Steve Jobs. So yeah, welcome to the fight, BlackBerry!

Vodafone, al doilea jucător de pe piaţa locală de telefonie mobilă va lansa “în perioada următoare” pe piaţa locală cele mai noi smartphone-uri lansate de compania Blackberry, au precizat pentru ZF reprezentanţii companiei de telefonie mobilă.

“Noile terminale BlackBerry vor intra în perioada următoare în portofoliul Vodafone România”, au declarat reprezentanţii companiei.
Reprezentanţii celorlalţi doi mari jucători de pe piaţa locală de telefonie mobilă nu au răspuns întrebărilor ZF în legătură cu acest subiect.

Compania canadiană Research in Motion a lansat miercuri seară la New York noua sa platformă software Blackberry 10 - şi două smartphone-uri - Q10- care are o tastatură fizică şi un ecran de 3,1 inchi şi vârful de gamă Z10 - un model cu ecran tactil de 4,2 inchi care pare o clonă de iPhone 5 dar care, graţie modului în care e construit sistemul de operare, nu are un buton fizic precum telefonul Apple.

M-am jucat si eu cu un Z10 si pot spune ca nu m-a impresionat cu nimic. Da, OS-ul se misca bine, dar nu e nimic din ce n-am mai vazut. Ce nu mi-a placut deloc la el este modul in care e 'atasat' ecranul. Are zonele acelea de 'lipire' de care sincer credeam ca am scapat acum multi ani. Si in zonele acelea de obicei se strange enorm de mult praf si mizerie, fiind aproape imposibil de curatat. poate doar la lupa si cu pensule fine, plus rabdare de mamut. Poate cine stie, ma asteptam eu la prea mult din partea lui. Inca am un 4S si Z10 nu m-a facut deloc sa renunt la el.

Eu am Iphone 4 si nici 4s nici 5 nu m-au determinat sa renunt la el sunt sigur ca il voi tine (la fel ca pe 3G) pana cand butoanele vor deveni "unresponsive".

Astept sa-mi dea Z10 de la servici
