Problem solved!! Sony claims they don't know anything about it. I was given a trouble shoot that worked to re enable sound. Open the Game Data Utility folder, just above the game icon itself and look for God of war 3, if none, move on.
If there is one, delete it. sorry. God of war 3 should be in the drive by the way.
1.Turn off PS3 til light is red.
2. Hold power button til it goes green, then red and release.
3. Hold power button til the system beeps twice quickly, beep beep. Follow instructions,"connect controller w/USB and press PS button. 4.Use Restore File system choice 3. Are you sure, answer yes. Available HDMI found use it for video and audio, answer yes. Do you want optimal settings, answer yes. This will not damage saves of other games.
5.The hard disc is corrupted and will need to restore, answer yes. This will not damage saves of other games.
6. Enjoy your bad ass game with all its audio glory!!
If the PS3 selects the wrong resolution, just go into display settings and fix it.
Thank John at Sony for the help.
Incearca fara stergerea salvarilor. Eu am facut-o oricum pentru ca am refuzat sa ma joc fara 5.1.
