Rockstar's Agent "Very, Very Different" From GTA
Take-Two CEO Ben Feder sheds a little more light on the mysterious PS3 game to Eurogamer, saying that Agent will feature "very, very different storylines, very different character development" from the wildly successful Rockstar North series Grand Theft Auto.
It's a game about espionage, set in the 1970s. GTA is obviously more about an urban experience, a typically rags to riches experience," Feder says. "It's going to be very fresh for gamers."
The Take-Two CEO doesn't have much to share beyond that, opting to opine "I think gamers will be blown away by it."
Officially, Take-Two says that "Agent takes players on a paranoid journey into the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations during the height of the Cold War at the end of the 1970s."

A list of confirmed and rumored appearances for E3 2011 has made its way on to the Internet revealing which games we can expect to see.
Apparently it is confirmed that Rockstar Games will be showing Agent, L.A. Noire, and Max Payne 3. We sort of assume that L.A. Noire would make an appearance but Agent and Max Payne 3 are a pleasant surprise!
Also among the list are rumored appearances of Bully 2, Grand Theft Auto V and Manhunt 3. Of course these three games are just rumored and should be taken as just that: rumors!

SONY� and Rockstar Games have spectacularly sold the rights to what was to be their most adventurous franchise ever - AGENT, A 1970's espionage themed PS3 Exclusive.
Norwegian alcoholic drinks giant Loof Lirpa� who's main business up until now had been as the country's biggest exporter of whiskey based beverages has bowed to pressure from it's investor's to move into the videogames market.
Loof Lirpa� CEO Olaf Bj�rn-Erik told Time Magazine, "Having been the leading supplier of alcoholic beverages to teenager's throughout the world our investor's feel we are in as good a position as anyone to begin producing videogames. We know what teenager's want and having done our research into the videogames market we decided to approach SONY� with an offer for Rockstar North's cold war spy game AGENT. After some debate over finances we finally agreed to settle the deal at 276.720092 million Norwegian kroner ($50m)."
Asked to explain how they are going to find AAA class developers to take on the project he replied "We will take on 120 staff who were working on The Agency game which fortunately for us, fell through and produced lay-offs at SONY� (source here) recently."
Pushed further to elaborate on the game's plot he said "AGENT will still keep to it's original storyline where the player takes on the role of a cold war spy agent seeking missing nukes that have fallen into the hands of international terrorists. They will experience amazing action scenes set against the backdrops of 1970's Moscow, Cairo, London and a yet to be added middle eastern country where the game's grand finale will play out. We expect a release date of Q2 2012 on PS3 and Xbox360 followed by a PC version later in the year."
It is understood SONY� and Take-Two Interactive will make a joint statement regarding the matter later in the week.
Rockstar North are now believed to be moving onto a new franchise involving a sea borne adventure called 'The Pirates Chest'.

Yes, Agent Is “Still in Development”
Take-Two Interactive has said that Agent is still in development, despite a huge lack of information regarding the title as of late.
During a fiscal earnings conference call that we were on today, Take Two answered a listener’s question about Agent saying that it is indeed still in development. So don’t lose all hope, anyone who was looking forward to it.
Yes, we know that this is skimming about as close to “not news” as is possible, but don’t forget that we’re a gaming blog. It’s our job to trigger gaming-related endorphins in your minds. Hopefully I’ve facilitated that for some of you.

Agent rumors never die, they just go to sleep for a while. That’s the case today at any rate, as Agent rumors have awoken from their slumber once more thanks to a resume posted by a Rockstar research video editor.
According to Superannuation, a staffer at Rockstar New York mentions Agent alongside Grand Theft Auto 5 as currently in development on his resume.
While its possible the game is still in the works four years after it was announced, if it is coming, it won’t be released in 2013 – this is GTA 5′s year.
Two years ago Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said during an earning call Agent was “still in development,” but in truth Rockstar and its parent have been quite on the subject and refuse to answer direct questions on the matter. When either respond anymore, “we have nothing to announce” is usually the answer given.
Agent had a long history before its E3 2009 announcement: it began life as a prototype for PS2 and Xbox at Rockstar San Diego in 2003 before being put on hold. A few years later it was resurrected and touted as a PS3 exclusive – for a while at least. Now, it’s unclear since Rockstar remains silent on the matter.
Should the game which takes place during the height of the Cold War in the 70s finally come back into the light, it’s likely we’ll see it release on next-gen systems – either exclusively, or conjointly with PS3.

Agent trademark renewed by Take-Two | VG247
Agent may still be a live project over at Rockstar, following the discovery of a renewed trademark for the game.
The filing was submitted on July 18 and applies to a variety of video game and multimedia uses.
The trademark filing suggests that the game’s logo has remained unchanged following this renewal as the filing reads, “The mark consists of the word “AGENT” with the shape of a handgun comprising the internal section of the letter “G”.”
Take-Two’s filing follows the appearance of Agent on a Rockstar New York employee’s resume, which stated the game was still in-development. Check out our report on the matter here.
Agent was announced in July, 2007 and was pitched as a Rockstar North spy game set during the cold war. Rockstar’s initial press release said it would take place in, “The world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations”
