    Vineri, Jason West si Vince Zampella, cei doi care au infintat studioul Infinity Ward si au fost concediati de Activision, au spus ca vor face un anunt in foarte scurt timp. Astazi au publicat un comunicat de presa prin care anunta formarea unui studio de development nou, numit Respawn Entertainment. Acestia au motivat aceasta decizie prin faptul ca "cea mai buna metoda de a-ti pastra integritatea si calitatea muncii tale si sa te asiguri ca fanii primesc ce merita este sa detii propriile IP-uri".

    Desigur, duo-ul nu se aventueaza singuri; ei s-au aliat cu (cine altcineva?) Electronic Arts. EA va finanta echipa cu cateva milioane de dolari in capital si ii va ajuta sa angajeze oamenii necesari pentru a produce noi francize de succes. Ce este ciudat este faptul ca in ciuda imensului sprijin financiar, developer-ul Respawn va mentine totusi drepturile asupra IP-urilor create.

    Desigur, niciunul din cei doi nu au vrut sa comenteze la ce joc va lucra studioul sau ce gen va fi abordat (shootere militare anyone?), dar West a spus ca va fi un "blockbuster imens de vara".

    Incep sa nu-i mai cred nevinovati pe respectivii in relatia cu Activision.

    As dori totusi sa adaug cateva cuvinte, ca tot a deschis Hitler subiectul:

    Week-end-ul trecut a fost gratuit Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer pe Steam si m-am putut delecta cu el cateva ore, nu exact cat mi-as fi dorit, dar asta este, vrei mai mult, platesti. Tare jocul ce-i drept, dar n-am putut scapa de impresia ca ar fi si mai tare daca n-ar fi atat de CONSOLIZAT!!! Atunci cand aleg un FPS de PC, vreau sa experimentez exact ce am ales, un joc conceput special pentru PC cu toate avantajele platformei: grafica mai buna, gameplay imbunatatit, dat bineinteles si de precizia mouse&KB, servere dedicate, numar mult mai mare de jucatori in multi, ati prins ideea. La MW2 PC nu exista niciunul din elementele enumerate, e tot posirca de pe console. Ce nu am sesizat au fost glitch-urile, asta si probabil din cauza ca sistemul VAC functioneaza mult mai bine.

    Bad Company 2 is a much better PC game, se cunoaste ca cei care l-au lucrat nu au stirbit nimanui din avantajele la care ii indreptateste platforma pe care au ales sa-l joace. Implementarea DX11 e o dovada in acest sens.

    Lead designers Zied Reike and Steve Fukuda, as well as programmer Rayme Vinson, have left ailing Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward, according to "sources close to the studio" speaking with Kotaku. Additionally, lead artist Chris Cherubini is confirmed to have left the studio. And yes, folks, this is the second story we've written today about developers exiting the Activision-owned dev house, bringing the number of employee departures since studio co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired up to nine in total.

    As with other developers that left IW recently, little information has been given as to where everyone will end up -- none have been confirmed as moving to West and Zampella's newly formed Respawn Entertainment as of yet. Regardless, if previous reports about low studio morale and unpaid royalties were true, we wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few more IW departures in the near future.

    Cei doi se comporta ca niste infumurati si nu le va face deloc bine pe termen lung. Industria jocurilor a demonstrat de atatea ori ca succesul unei francize nu depinde exclusiv de 1-2 oameni prezenti in companie la o anumita data. Sunt zeci sau chiar sute de oameni in spatele lor la fel de pregatiti si talentati care le vor putea lua locul fara absolut nici o problema. Comportamentul acesta de star rock on dope cazut in dizgratie datorita ultimului single care nu se vinde bine ma lasa rece. Vezi seria God of War - fiecare titlu al trilogiei a avut un alt game director. Rezultatele vorbesc de la sine si sunt atatea alte exemple.

    Total gresit. Ei erau Lead designers. Fara scenaristi, jocul poate fi maxim o opera grafica si nimic mai mult.
    Crede-ma, publisheri pun o presiune uriasa pe toti cei care creaza un joc. Multi dintre directori n-au treaba cu jocurile, sunt ancorati in financiar si logic ca deadline-urile distrug efectiv un titlu. N-avem de unde sa stim ce s-a petrecut la IW si Activision, dar tendinta ultimilor ani este de a scoate titluri pe banda rulanta, ignorandu-se calitatea gameplay-ului.

    Problema e ca nu au plecat doar ei. Din ce am mai citit au plecat inca vreo 10 veterani care erau la IW de peste 8 ani si care ocupau pozitii foarte importante in dezvoltarea unui joc (nu mai stiu exact, oricum numai Senior/Lead).

    On April 6, 2010 it was reported that two more senior developers had resigned.profiles of both Lead designer Todd Alderman and lead software Francesco Gilgiotti indicated that the two had left the company earlier in April.[3]
    On April 12, 2010, the departure of three more Infinity Ward employees was revealed. Programmer Jon Shiring, Senior Animator Bruce Ferriz, and Modern Warfare 2 lead designer Mackey McCandlish all announced they had left the studio, but declined to elaborate on their reasons for doing so.[32]
    On April 13 2010, it is reported that four more employees has left Infinity Ward. Steve Fukuda and Zied Reike both senior developers. Also, Rayme Vinson a programmer and lead artist Chris Cherubini are said to have left Infinity Ward that same day.[33]

    S-a ajuns la numarul 13 cu plecarile din Infinity Ward. Mark Grigsby (lead animator, din 2005 la IW) si Paul Messerly (lead character animator, din 2002 la IW) au demisionat ieri.
