DICE, the studio behind Battlefield 3 has just deployed a pretty consistent day one patch for the first person shooter on the Xbox 360 console which adds in all of the improvements made by the developer after the game went gold.

Battlefield 3 is being released in North America today, and is getting ready for its European debut on Friday, October 28, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Now, just as American Xbox 360 owners are getting their copies of Battlefield 3 into their consoles, they're greeted with a day one patch, via Eurogamer, weighing it at around 170MB, which, according to the game's lead designer, David Goldfarb, brings many of the last minute tweaks and improvements made by the team at DICE after the game was sent to manufacturing.

No word yet on if this patch is also coming to PlayStation 3 or PC owners, so expect more details about the contents of the update soon.
