Jaffe responds about Twisted Metal visuals with 7 strong sentences!

    1) We deliver an anti-aliased, 720p, HDR experience. We support 1080p
output (with noticeable improvement to UI elements). We're not "sub HD"
by any stretch of the imagination.
    2) We're still pre-alpha which means we aren't even done writing
graphics code let alone tuning the art content to go with it.
    3) Many textures and shaders are pre-alpha quality and will be improved.
    4) Most screenshots and video on the web were taken from video cameras
rather than direct screen capture. They don't represent even our
    current quality level.
    5) We don't want to drop our frame rate even though we have a megaton of
action on the screen with dynamic physics and lighting (and eventually
    four player splitscreen!)
    6) Our levels are large with very long draw distances. Everything you
see is an interactive world, not simply static geometry. A lot of it is
    destructible.
    and finally,
    7) We haven't even shown our best stuff yet. If anything, we've only
shown our oldest stuff, and our artists keeping discovering new ways to
    improve visual quality.
promite mult jocul, asta daca nu e doar gura de ei.

Jaffe would love to make a Twisted Metal "low budget slasher movie" for PSN - GamerZines

It was the surprise reveal during Sony's E3 Conference of the return of the popular Twisted Metal series in its PlayStation 3 debut, that proved a highlight of the event for many. Its existence having been denied for months by acclaimed games designer, David Jaffe, it was a moment that was met with a frenzy of excitement from fans.

However whilst the PlayStation 3 title is still underway, Jaffe has today revealed that whilst many believed that he had wanted to release a Sweet Tooth PSN title alongside this, his intentions had always been to make a "low budget slasher movie" that would be "very grainy and dark and disturbingly shot."

David Jaffe outs Twisted Metal details over Twitter

David Jaffe, founder of Eat Sleep Play, has revealed some details about the upcoming Twisted Metal game through his Twitter account.

In responses to vast amounts of messages directed to him, David Jaffe often has a tweet-streak when he gets on Twitter, and sometimes these reveal some information about the upcoming Twisted Metal games.

First of all, he revealed that Eat Sleep Play plan to add new characters and vehicles to the game after launch, whether this is through downloadable content or free patches hasn’t been specified, however.

They also plan to make the cars more destructible, Jaffe said that the vehicles will “toss debris and flip cars when a big ram occurs”. However, he also stated that these features are not in the game yet.

He also revealed that you will be able to change your vehicle after a death (or suicide) has occured.

There will be a total of 32 characters, but Jaffe does describe vehicles as characters too, so it could be 16 characters and 16 vehicles.

Local multiplayer is apparently still a very strong aspect of the game, Jaffe claims that they would never abandon it in any Twisted Metal game.

There will be 4 different factions to play as:
The Clowns = Sweet Tooth followers
    The Dolls = Dollface followers
    The Skulls = Grimm followers
The Holy Men = Preacher disciples

In multiplayer, each different faction will have different cars, which anyone in the faction can drive.

VG247 Blog Archive Twisted Metal will have split-screen online, won’t support Move or 3D
Eat, Sleep, Play boss David Jaffe has confirmed tonight during a ComicCon panel that Twisted Metal will support split-screen online.

He also admitted though that the game won’t support 3D or PlayStation Move, which, according to G4, went down with a rapturous reception when announced.
Jaffe also said the studio is “interested” in DLC, although wouldn’t be mor be specific on what that meant, including the addition of characters.
Unrevealed concepts for the game was also shown during the panel, including Twisted Metal: Apocalypse, as previously revealed earlier this week by Jaffe on his blog.
You can get the lowdown on what happened at the panel here.

mai mult ca sigur va avea si format pe Blu Ray Disk . Arata mult prea bine si mult prea complex, ca sa fie un simplu downlodable game(ori asta ori o sa ocupe cel putin 6-7 GB ca sa fie downlodat)

David Jaffe provides status update on Twisted Metal

Fortunately, David Jaffe recently gave a small status update on the development of the Playstation 3 game. When a fan asked him to give a percentage on how much of Twisted Metal’s development is completed, he responded with the following statement on his Twitter:
Sorry man. I just can't. All I can say is we're racing towards Alpha, if that helps

PlayStation LifeStyle Server Lists Blasting Their Way into Twisted Metal’s Multiplayer Environment
The announcement of Twisted Metal coming to the PlayStation 3 was arguably the most exciting announcement at this year’s E3. Better yet, even more thrilling was the fact that the game will incorporate a deep online multiplayer component; easily one of the most desired implementations by fans of the classic series. Now, it looks like the online portion will be host to both server lists and matchmaking, based on latest information from the director of the title.
David Jaffe, the director for Eat Sleep Play’s upcoming Twisted Metal title, shared some new information about the online environment of the title in this tweet:
“I THINK I can say…we’ll find out if this gets me in trouble But both.Server lists &Matchmaking.****ing LOVE server lists!”
Fast vehicles, weapons, explosions, and now server lists? What more can you ask for? Twisted Metal is bound to blast like dynamite when it smashes onto the PlayStation 3 sometime during 2011, likely during the fall or holiday season.

PlayStation LifeStyle Twisted Metal To Arrive Before December 2011, Release Date Announcement Soon
2011 looks to be a stellar year, in fact, it is packed with so many PlayStation 3 exclusives that Sony will be competing with themselves for our hard earned cash. Along with Killzone 3, Resistance 3 and possibly Uncharted 3, one of the PS3′s biggest games is Eat Sleep Play’s new Twisted Metal – but when can we expect to get our hands on the upcoming game?

Twitter fanatic, the Co Director and Co Lead Designer for Twisted Metal, David Jaffe tweeted:
Holy shot! Less than a year & our baby will be on these [store] shelves! I can’t wait AND I’m ****in terrified!
Not only will the game be coming out before December 5th, Jaffe teased:
We’ll announce our release date soon!
With the Spike TV Video Game Awards right around the corner, it is possible that the game will be given a solid release date at the show.
Will you be picking up Twisted Metal when it releases next year? Tell us in the comments below.
Ok, stim ca o sa ajunga inainte de Decembrie 2011 da totusi...e cam tarziu . Oare nu are de gand David sa ne faca o surpriza si sa anunte lansarea la primavara sau cel tarziu vara?

PlayStation LifeStyle Twisted Metal Won’t be Jumping Out of Your TV
Over the past year, Sony has been pushing 3D hard, from their new TV’s, to their over the top E3 conference, 3D is everywhere. They’ve also made huge strides in adding it to all of their major franchises, with 3D coming to over 50 titles for the PS3, but it looks like one of their upcoming heavy hitters won’t be joining in on the fun.
David Jaffe, Co-Director and Co-Lead Designer for Twisted Metal, who has never been short on words, was answering questions on NeoGAF about his upcoming game Twisted Metal. When asked if it would have 3D, Jaffe had this to say:
No 3D planned. I don’t know much about it but I am under the impression to do 3D your game has to run at 60fps, yes? That may be wrong but for some reason I was under this impression since you have to draw the screen twice at the same time to get the effect to work.
We are a running on a kick ass engine but with all our game design require of that engine, TMPS3 at 60fps is not going to happen. I mean, you never know as our engineers are stunningly good and you never know what fun surprises they will bring to the table from day to day, but given the challenge at hand, I’m not holding my breath.
Ultimately this shouldn’t be a huge issue and it is highly doubtful this would have any negative effects on sales, but it is rather surprising since Twisted Metal should be one of Sony’s key franchises releasing next year. Jaffe did leave the option open, so as we approach the vague 2011 release date we will bring you any more info as it comes out.

Twisted Metal set for a Spring release

Sony has updated the release date information for Twisted Metal on its PlayStation.com listing and it looks like we may know when we can finally strap on the demonic clown mask own more time. Perhaps it was a bit premature, but someone at Sony has changed the game’s release date to say “Spring 2011.”

Previously, the game had been saddled with a “TBA 2011″ release date, but we know that David Jaffe, Scott Campbell and the rest of the team at Eat Sleep Play have been working on the game since at least 2008. That already lengthy development cycle (and Sony’s packed PS3 schedule for the Fall) lend further credence to a Spring release.

However, Sony has yet to confirm the news with a PlayStation.Blog post or a press release. We’ve contacted the publisher to ask just when Twisted Metal will be let out of the garage and we’ll update this post when we hear back.
