PS4 could face four months of shortages | Games industry news | MCV
The PlayStation UK team is in crucial talks to secure more PS4 consoles, after admitting it had underestimated how popular it would be.
Sources close to the platform holder have told MCV that the current number of units expected in the UK is unlikely to satisfy demand. The machine could be in short supply for up to four months after launch.
Pre-orders have already surpassed the firm’s original predictions, and the company has had to turn off day one orders in an effort not to disappoint any eager gamers still wanting to get a machine on launch.
But Sony is worried that if potential customers cannot buy a PS4, then they may choose Xbox One instead.“We are very excited. We are very pleased to see such a shift towards PlayStation. But we now need to think about the gamer, our retail partners and manage those expectations as much as possible.
“It is pretty inevitable that demand will outstrip supply. It’s a good problem to have, but also a tricky one.”

Upgrading PS3 games to PS4 version, supported games list -- PlayStation Universe
Early adopters of the following titles shouldn't be afraid to get them for PlayStation 3: when the times comes, the PlayStation 4 version can be obtained at a nominal fee after buying the PS3 version.
Consumers who buy physical version of the supported games will find a code included in the game case, and, at the cost of $9.99, gamers can upgrade their games from the PS3 version to a PS4 version via PSN download. The only catch, apart from the upgrade fee, is that the PS3 game disc will be necessary to activate the PS4 version once the PS4 launches. The official article on the PlayStation Blog dictates that the PS3 disc is to be inserted into the PS4 in order to activate and play the PS4 version, which means that consumers cannot sell the PS3 versions of their games after upgrading.
Digital consumers--those who will purchase these titles on the PlayStation Network--will not need to redeem any codes. Instead, early digital adopters of the supported games will automatically have the PS4 versio appear in PSN at the price of $9.99.
Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghost will also transfer multiplayer stats across both versions, so online aficionados will not have to start over in their online experience once they switch consoles; also, these only work with same company brandings, which means that an Xbox 360 version of Black Flag will not work to get the PS4 version.
The four supported upgradeable games are:
-Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Jan. 31, 2014)
-Call of Duty: Ghost (March 31, 2014)
-Watch Dogs (Jan. 31, 2014)
-Battlefield 4 (March 28, 2014)
Behind each title is the final date that the cheaper upgraded version offer will be available, so gamers won't have to shell out their cash too quickly, but they must be mindful that this offer won't last forever.

Since Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishmentsdevelopment was switched over to Unreal Engine 3, not only did the game get a graphical upgrade, it now boasts over 14 game mechanics which help convey the feeling of being the fantastic Holmes. Not only this, but the game is now heading to PS4 alongside PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in early 2014.

You can order your PS4 about without picking up a controller, thanks to the console's add-on camera. Revealed by Sony Senior VP and Business Division President Masayasu Ito at the*Tokyo Game Show
, you can use its voice and face recognition tech to do things like loading up*Knack. Although, sadly, you'll still have to get up and grab a controller to play it (we were so close to*the*future).
The news isn't a great surprise given the leak from earlier this month. It's still unclear how these commands work in practice, but we expect Sony to show off the tech soon enough. The PS4 camera will be priced $60.

Zilele trecute am vorbit cu directorul magazinului Media Galaxy din orasul in care locuiesc. Printre altele, l-am intrebat ce stie despre consola PS4 si daca va fi disponibila la vanzare in data oficiala de lansare, 29 noi. Spre uimirea mea, mi-a recomandat ca daca vreau sa fiu sigur ca voi avea posibilitatea de a o detine anul acesta, sa fac o comanda la ei in magazin, dar cu plata totala in avans. In urma platii primesc o chitanta cu care ma prezint la lansare, astfel urmand sa primesc consola fara alte costuri suplimentare.
Stiti ceva despre situatia asta? Oare chiar e recomandat sa o platesc integral acum?

Daca se aprovizioneaza cum trebuie asa cum au facut-o la GTA 5, gasesti. Daca nu, asa cum au facut-o cu Diablo III pe PC cand am strabatut tot bucurestiul si tot nu am gasit...

Rasko, daca-l cunosti pe director si vrei sa fii 100% sigur, achita avansul. Eu n-am auzit pana acum asa ceva in magazine... sa platesti cash, integral, un produs pe care nu se stie daca-l aduc sau nu.
Da, eu sunt ferm convins ca nu vor fi prea multe aduse in Romania. Nu se poate compara vanzarea la un joc (fie el chiar si GTA V sau Diablo III) cu numarul limitat de console PS4...
Sincer nici nu stiu daca e o practica legala, trebuie sa vorbesc la juridic la mine sa fiu sigur.

Instead, the initial plan was for the PS4 to ship with just 4GB, Sony confirmed during a presentation at the 2013 Tokyo Game Show this week.
Daca plateste integral sunt sanse mari sa-i dea consola, dar nici asa eu n-as garanta, mai ales daca vor fi putine sau pretul va fi mai mare. Eu am patit intr-un magazin mare asta (nu dau nume), am vazut un TV la promotie, era ultimul din stoc, mi-a placut mult modelul (si pretul, recunosc), dar n-aveam la mine toata suma.
Era seara cu putin inainte de inchiderea magazinuli, am lasat acolo un avans de 100 lei, mi-au dat ceva foaie semnata si stampilata si mi-au rezervat produsul. Am spus ca vin a doua zi dupa masa, cand am iesit de la lucru am sunat, mi-au confirmat ca e acolo, m-am dus si... nu era, cica l-au vandut dimineataMi-au returnat avansul si gata.
Asa ca nu m-as mira deloc ca sa fie unii care achita integral consola si sa se trezeasca cu suma returnata daca e mai scumpa la aparitie, ca patronul roman nu-i prost si nici nu-i place sa piarda. Nu zic, e posibil si sa onoreze comenzile (poate chiar si fara avans), ideea e ca eu m-am fript si nu mai bag mana in foc pentru nimic.
In Italia este un sistem asemanator, un prieten imi cumpara de acolo PS4, a achitat avans de 100 euro pentru consola, a primit un bon frumos si colorat iar vanzatorii au zis sa le faca o vizita la mijlocul lunii octombrie pentru a prelua consola. Acum nu stiu daca o sa fie la noi destule console dar cert este ca metoda avansului functioneaza peste tot. Asta inseamna de fapt precomanda. La noi luam zece magazine la rand, apasam la fiecare butonul de precomanda si la final renuntam la tot fiindca nu ne convine culoarea cutiei, NU ASA SE FACE. Daca vrei precomanda, plateste 10-30% in avans ca vanzatorul sa fie sigur de un lucru. Raskolnikov1944, cu plata integrala in avans tot nu as fi de acord, nu iti pot argumenta de ce, parca nu este ok sa platesti ceva ce inca nu a fost lansat. Daca era deja pe raft si plateai in avans nu era problema dar asa... tu stii ce faci.
