Backwards compatibility is back ... sort of! SCEA has announced that the PlayStation 2 God of War games will be coming to PlayStation 3 on a single, HD-enhanced Blu-ray disc. Previously hinted at in a consumer survey, the God of War Collection will feature "reworked" versions of both games, running at 60 frames per second and 720p resolution. The port is being handled by Bluepoint Games, the team behind the PSN-exclusive shooter, Blast Factor. Hopefully, the games will be more than simply upscaled, giving original PS3 owners a reason to partake in the double dip.
The Blu-ray collection will be available this "holiday season," and will cost $39.99 -- the same price as buying both of the games on PS2. This HD remix should give fans some time to practice Kratos' moves before God of War III completes the "triology" (oh, press release typos!) in March.

Remember back when there was a survey that hinted at what would be contained in the God of War III collector's edition? Well, one of those items is out... but it'll still be offered through another manner. God of War 1 & 2 are being remade and put onto a Blu-Ray disc. Titled God of War Collection, you won't have to worry about having a backwards compatible PS3 to play them. It'll be $40 and run at 1280x720.

e aproape perfect... daca mai adaugau si demo-ul pt III era si mai aproape de perfectiune... 100% ar fi fost daca ar fi introdus si versiunea care a iesit pe PSP, dar aceea fiind un prequel (povestea am inteles ca se intampla inainte de primul joc de pe ps2)...
in orice caz, daca apare si la un pret bun pe la noi... e un must-have pt toata lumea. Chiar si pt cei cu consola de 60gb, pt ca originalul nu iti ofera 720p nativ.
apropo, gow 1 si 2 pe ps2 au fost la 30fps sau 60?
E raiul pentru gameri mai ramane sa faca un remake la final fantasy VII si trophies pentru MGS 4 si e perfect.
