Warhawk 2 is Under Development

Our Editor manged to get a hands-on Warhawk 2 at SCEA secret event for an unannounced game for a selected players who played the first game and he fortunately knows a guy who have been selected to the event , obviously there was no camera allowed but we obtain some information.

*The Game will feature a story mode.
*The game will support Co-op.
*Initially the game will support 32 players on the network
*Multi-player will feature 25 maps.
*The game will feature a military vehicles such as tanks, motorcycles, air-crafts and other vehicles.
*You can build bunkers for your self but are subject to destruction by enemies.
*Improvements for the combat system and camera angles.
*The Graphics is better than the previous Warhawk.

Starhawk confirmed, first details leaked

It may look to be a torrid time for Playstation gamers, with the PSN outage meaning you're stuck with all those single-player games. Eww. However, the world just got much a better place; SystemLink can exclusively reveal that Starhawk, the much-rumoured sequel to 2007's Warhawk, is real - and we've got the first details.

We spoke to a Sony employee who, understandably, wished to remain anonymous. He confirmed to us that a sequel to Warhawk is indeed real, having been in development for a number of years now. It's official title is 'Starhawk'. What follows are all the details we gathered;

- Starhawk will be revealed before E3 2011 - in fact, mid May is the current date for the official public outing.

- The game remains a PS3 exclusive. However, Starhawk will ship on Blu-ray, rather being a digital title on PSN like Warhawk.

- The main gameplay elements remain much the same. Starhawk is a third-person shooter, with jeeps, APCs, tanks, and now spaceships.

- According to our source, you cannot fly from a planet into space. Some maps are set on a planet, with dogfights taking place in the air, while others are in space, with small areas for ground combat. The game is still set in another universe, so Earth will not feature.

- The game will retain the slightly cartoonish visuals - no ultra-gritty reboot in sight.

- Starhawk runs on a brand new engine that provides stunning visuals, explaining the jump from digital title to Blu-ray disc.

- While the main body of the same is still online multiplayer, there is a single-player component.

- Starhawk is the game Dylan Jobe can't wait to talk about.

This is the first time that Starhawk has been officially confirmed as in development, despite many rumours, and the first time all the features above have been confirmed. And as for the source's reliability, SystemLink can 100% confirm that this information is real and legitimate.

“Shooters these days range between five and eight hours, depending on a play through. We’re going to be in that range,” Jobe told Eurogamer when asked about the single-play’s length.
“There is some concern sometimes, when a guy in the media will be like, ‘Oh my God, it’s too short for single-player.’ I just don’t see it that way.
“For example, if you play most shooters from start to finish, if you play it again you’re going to get pretty much the same experience. You could go play Halo on mercenary mode or whatever. It’s going to be tougher, but it’s still pretty much going to be the same experience.”
Starhawk’s single-play campaign is the first for the ‘Hawk’ series, with Warhawk being a multiplayer-only affair.

Studioul Incognito s-a desfiintat in 2009 iar fostii angajati au format Eat Sleep Play al lui David Jaffe si LightBox Interactive ce se ocupa de Starhawk. Cat despre THX, aceasta este o tehnologie ce are legatura cu calitatea sunetului si imaginii, nicidecum o firma producatoare de jocuri.

Starhawk draws inspiration from games like Battle Zone, Plants vs Zombies and PixelJunk Monsters, according to Lightbox Interactive.

“I remember the day I was flying back from LA and playing Plants vs. Zombies on my iPad,” CEO Dylan Jobe told Ripten.
” … It was the simple yet fun aesthetics of collecting and spending sun which got us thinking about our very simple economy – killing to build and building to kill.
“The idea that shooting buildings, enemies, and vehicles would yield the currency for our Build&Battle system and how it had to be gratifying to ‘get paid.’”
“… To an even larger degree, PixelJunk Monsters really inspired us for how way we handle our Build & Battle currency.”
Less surprising is Lightbox’s affection for Battlezone, a unique 1998 strategy title played in first-person perspective.
“BattleZone has always had a special place in my heart. [BattleZone] was the reason why I bought a 3DFX card way back in the day,” Jobe said.
“BattleZone has come up several times in our discussions and debates about Starhawk and the comparisons and influences are pretty obvious.”
The PlayStation 3-exclusive Starhawk, a spiritual successor to Warhawk with a full single-player campaign and RTS elements, is due sometime in 2012.
