PS3 Firmware 3.41 Issues Arise for PlayStation 3 HDD Upgraders
Today Examiner.com (linked above) reports that numerous users who opted to upgrade the PS3 HDD are now experiencing issues with the recently released PS3 Firmware 3.41 update.
It is not yet determined if these issues are related to the PS3 Firmware Patches Sony instituted beginning with PlayStation 3 Firmware update version 3.41, however, there is currently a lengthy thread on Sony's official board covering the issues.
To summarize, quoting from Examiner.com: "The problems being reported are the following: PS3 owners are unable to update their system to firmware 3.41, HDD upgrades aren't being allowed, systems are crashing, and after installing a new HDD the system isn't fully downloading the file and then prompts users with a message stating 'no applicable data found'."
Sony is currently recommending affected users update their previous PS3 HDD first to see if the update works with it, followed by updating from a thumb drive formatted in FAT 32 with the 3.41 PS3 update.

E cineva dispus sa joace campania din Unreal Tournament 3 pe insane in co-op incepand de luni?
Umbla la setarile de la ps3media server , la fonturi, etc daca tot asa face leaga consola cu fir de router, wireless-ul este numai pt.routerele mai "speciale".
Primeam tot felul de mesaje dintr-astea cand nu aveam consola cablata in router. Mai ales daca ai router mai de doi lei ca al meu (D-Link RG60SE), la care mai tot pica semnalul wireless.Stie cineva de ce in timpul streamingului cu ps3media server, imi apare msj."the ps3 sistem has been disconected from media server", dar nu se intampla nimic, merge totul brici....de unde acest mesaj fals???
Sony adds new DRM protection to PS3
Earlier this year, Sony updated their Terms of Service information to add in a blurb about updates and the inclusion of automatic updates and upgrades. As Sony puts it in the Terms of Service: 'Automatic updates or upgrades which may change your current operating system, cause a loss of data or content or cause a loss of functionalities or utilities'. After much waiting and wondering, the function of this feature has been made clear and that's thanks to the recent firmware update of 3.41. With the recent firmware update, Sony has added a new DRM protection feature with Cinavia DRM Protection as an automatic PS3 download.
What Cinavia DRM Protection technology will do is create an audio watermark that will target pirates for gaming and movies. Detailed on the official site, Cinavia works in a way that it compares the "source of the audio to the format in which a movie was released, and if the watermarked audio source detects a difference, the movie will either be mute."
The long-term effects of this new protection system will slowly be revealed, but hackers are already likely trying to find ways around this watermark system.
Insomniac to reveal new “PlayStation 3 project” between now and PAX Central
Insomniac’s confirmed that it’ll be showing off its new title anytime between now and PAX Central. Did someone just scream “Germany”?
The news came via the studio’s newsletter that was released earlier this evening, further confirming the title will be a new “PlayStation 3 project”, which severely hints at it being a first-party SCE title, and not its upcoming multi-platform game for PS3 and 360 with EA Partners.
“We’re happy to reveal that we’ll be announcing our newest game sometime between now and the Penny-Arcade Expo over Labor Day weekend. We’re really excited to finally reveal this project, and we couldn’t resist being the first to share the news with you.”
It goes on to say:
“Want to be the first members of the public to see our new game being played with your own eyes? We’re bringing our new game to a very special Penny-Arcade Expo panel on Saturday evening (September 4th), at 6:30pm in the Serpent Theatre. G4TV’s Adam Sessler will moderate a panel with key creative talent from Insomniac Games as we discuss (and demo!) our upcoming PlayStation 3 project.
Sounds to us it’s so on for Cologne in three weeks. Bring it.
It’s thought the title Insomniac is currently developing for Sony is Resistance 3.
Datel's PS3 Hub Offers PS3 Slim More USB Ports and Card Reader
This weekend Datel Japan has launched their new accessory featured on Japan Game Watch dubbed the PS3 Hub for the PlayStation 3, which offers PS3 Slim owners more USB ports alongside a memory card reader.
The add-on accessory connects to the PS3 Slim console providing users with three extra USB slots and several variations of SD card slots.
Below is a picture of the the maximum amount of devices that can be connected with the PS3 Hub to a PlayStation 3 Slim, with some additional pictures available HERE.
Finally, to quote from TheSixthAxis.com (linked above): "For 2,000 Yen, the device plugs into the right-most USB port giving you another 3 extra sockets (so 4 in total) plus plenty of memory-card related goodness, including an SD cart slot that’s sadly missing on most models after the launch console.
The ports aren’t powered, although you can connect (judging from my translation) an external power supply to give them more juice."

Msj.asta al meu este unul fals fiindca daca te deconecteaza de la media server, filmul nu mai poate rula, e logic...ori la mine nu se intampla nimic, merge totul OK, am insa o banuiala.....consola era legata la router wireless si msj.asta cred ca provenea de alte console PS3 din zona(e o teorie) acum am legat-o cu cablu patch cord sa vedem daca mai face....
