Plain Sight Coming To PSN | PSNStores.com (Unofficial PSN Blog)

The new issue of Edge magazine has an Interview with London-based developer Beatnik games, in which, in conversation with the magazine, the developer revealed that their PC game Plain Sight, a fascinating and wonderful 3rd person action game, would be coming exclusively to PSN, with Move support in tow.

The only real information in the magazine is that the game will not be exclusively move-based, and that the players will likely be divided when it comes to online play, so as to prevent unfair advantages either way.

S�ldner-X 2: Final Prototype DLC Announced

eastasiasoft has today announced that S�ldner-X 2: Final Prototype - The Last Chapter, a downloadable expansion pack to the PlayStation 3 exclusive Shoot-'Em-Up game, S�ldner-X 2: Final Prototype, is now in development, to be released in the fourth quarter of 2010.

S�ldner-X 2: Final Prototype - The Last Chapter adds three new stages with a new story ending and soundtrack, as well as additional challenges and trophies to the original game. A more challenging difficulty mode will also be introduced to the game at the same time.

Swords & Soldiers coming to PSN

Swords & Soldiers, a largely overlooked WiiWare game (probably overlooked because it was a WiiWare game), is being ported to the PS3. The game's the same, but the graphics have been redone in HD to make looking at it more fun. Which it is, and it's actually a fantastic game...
Back in October, Brett Elston used to game to defend the Wii's non-casual appeal, calling it "one of the most colorful, addicting titles on the system." But don't take our word for it, look at all those laurels on the official site! So what's it about? Our glowing review of the WiiWare version explains:
"The foundation of Swords & Soldiers’ gameplay is one we’ve seen many times before. You direct peons to gather gold, upgrade your base, build units, and send your forces marching en-masse towards the enemy, who is also squarely focused on doing the exact same thing. Sometimes you’ll defend your own base from attack, while other times you’ll focus on crushing your opponent’s stronghold to dust. However, in this case the whole thing plays out on a lengthy and colorfully designed 2D side-scrolling battlefield filled with comical warriors whose goofy charm and zany personalities instantly suck you into the game’s enthralling grip."

Smart move, Sony - helping indie developers bring their under-appreciated Wii Ware games to the PS3 couldn't be a better idea. Swords & Soldiers is scheduled to launch on PlayStation Network this fall. Remember it

Bigben Interactive Reveals New PlayStation Minis Hitting PSN

CEE's European Product Manager Adam Grant has shared news today of three new PlayStation Minis hitting PSN this week from Bigben Interactive- namely Tetraminos, Labyrinth and Brick Breaker.

To quote: Three new minis this week, all from BIGBEN INTERACTIVE. If you’re a fan of classic arcade and puzzle games then this is your week.

Tetraminos

So you thought you were the ‘pro’ of arcade games? Swot up on your classics!

6 shapes of 4 blocks that drop without ever stopping, lines to complete and make vanish, 3 levels of difficulty, static blocks to hinder your progress and gradually increasing speed… There’s nothing like a bit of quick thinking to get rid of the stress.

Labyrinth

In this game the carnivorous plants have been let out! To escape from their insatiable appetite, you must devour all the seeds in the labyrinth, trick them, change direction, accelerate, go down the secret passages and eat up all the magic fruit to increase your strength and become the new predator of the labyrinth.

Brick Breaker

In this ultimate version of the classic there are 50 levels in classic mode, 12 levels in dual paddle mode, dozens of unusual bonuses, a rocket launcher, bouncing balls, a platform hazard, a screen that will make you go crazy... It’s a must for anyone who loves playing this type of game.

Dead Nation hits PSN later this fall

Dead Nation was introduced back in GamesCom 2009 and we still don't have a release date. Thankfully though, Housemarque has given us a window and we can expect the top-down zombie shooter sometime later this fall.

The game will have the largest number of zombies on-screen, but you could still take refuge in certain areas around the maps to recuperate, purchase supplies, and upgrade your weapons. Weapon upgrading also happens to be a major part of the gameplay, allowing you to raise damage, range, firing rate, reload speed, and ammo capacity, depending on the firearm in question.

You get to use those weapons against different kinds of zombies. There are fast-moving ones that go down easy with melee attacks, while there are big, slower types that can take a lot of punishment. Some zombies still retain the characteristics they had in life, so expect to see baseball-playing zombies as well as zombie policemen that wildly fire their guns while attacking.

Housemarque based the fast-paced gameplay of Dead Nation on their previous title, Super Stardust HD, so you'd know better than to stand still while the zombies begin to swarm (remember: largest number of zombies on-screen). It will help to have a partner - local multiplayer is a definite yes, but there's no word on online.

Pricing will be announced closer to release day, so we'll fill you in once that piece of info comes along.

Explodemon dated for PSN release

Curve's Explodemon has a fun concept. Players control the titular character, whose power lets him blow himself up. Interested? Its coming to the PS3 later this year.

The developer has announced a Q4 2010 PlayStation Network release for the 2.5D platformer. Aside from all the self-inflicted explosions, Explodemon will also feature some physics-based puzzles. It draws a lot of inspiration from old Japanese platformers, especially the badly-translated ones.

"The game is chock full of gameplay nuggets carefully mined from the greatest titles ever to grace our joysticks," says design director Jonathan Biddle. "Whether you're experiencing its intense combat, head-scratching puzzles, or classic platforming, you’ll find we've combined all of these elements into an addictive and elegantly balanced package."
