Unfortunately, the project is not coming anytime soon, as Meta has officially confirmed that it has been put "on hold indefinitely." A Meta spokesperson confirmed to IGN via email that the game has been put "on hold indefinitely."

Va salut! Am cumparat Quest 3, pe cable link nu vrea sa mearga si pace. Pe virtual desktop merge bine, nu perfect dar este ok. Totusi as vrea sa-l faca sa mearga pe cablu. Cand dau pe Quest link intra in acel meniu specific, se misca ok, cum pornesc un joc sau chiar sideovr incepe sa mearga in poze. Am incercat fel si fel de setari de pe net dar degeaba. La USB test in Meta cateodata merge si zice ca am 2.4 gbps dar de cele mai multe ori zice ca connection is unstable. Desi este bagat intr-un port USB 3.2 gen 1. Am placa de baza Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE, CPU 5600x. 32GB ram si Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti. Sa nu dea oare placa de baza curentul necesar? Am comandat si alt cablu si o placa pe PCIe cu USB-uri sa vad daca cu acestea merge. Chiar ciudata treaba.

Cred ca ai o problema fie cu cablul, fie cu portul. Te prinzi relativ usor, daca ai alte porturi sau alt calculator pe care sa testezi.
2.4Gbps este sub jumatate din cat are nevoie Quest 3-ul. El vrea conexiune de 5Gbps. Daca era problema de curent, nu ti s-ar mai fi incarcat bateria la Quest.

Also, fiind AMD, exista posibilitatea ca problema sa fie si pe la drivere, pe undeva. Pune-i drivere mai noi, fa-i update de BIOS, incearca alt port USB.

O alta metoda relativ simpla ca sa-ti dai seama de viteza reala a portului: foloseste un USB stick rapid, sau un SSD intr-un rack USB 3.2 gen 2. Si vezi ce viteze prinzi.

P.S. Sincer, sa-ti cumperi casca VR "fara fire" si sa vrei neaparat sa "joci pe fir", mi se pare cam aiurea. Dar nah, fiecare cu nebunia sa. Daca ai WiFi bun, pe Virtual Desktop trebuie sa mearga brici. Ah, sa nu te astepti ca pe cablu sa fie ca la castile VR care folosesc Display Port. Nope, si aici, tot de conversie/compresie o sa ai parte, deci tot o sa fie pierderi. Adica sa nu te astepti sa vezi diferente mari. Ba eu unul as spune ca din testele mele, ce a facut omuletul acela cu VD, bate tot ce a facut Meta pana acum in materie de compresie, latenta, calitate, optimizare bandwith, etc...

Am dat update la drivere si bios, am incercat toate porturile usb, face la fel pe toate. Ma gandeam ca pe cablul ar trebui sa mearga mai bine nemaifiind prin wifi pe pcvr.

Culmea si pe airlink face la fel. Pana acum merge doar VD.

Doar daca nu ai un WiFi prea bun (WiFi 6e sau WiFi 7), si ai interferente mari, sau e prea departe routerul, atunci da... ar merge mai bine pe cablu.

Eu in locul tau as cauta o placa PCIe cu USB-uri cel putin 3.2 Gen 2 (adica 10Gbps), cu alimentare interna (se conecteaza si la Molex, nu trage power doar din PCIe). Desigur, poti lua 3.2 Gen 2x2 sau poate chiar USB 4 (sunt backward compatible).
Uite un exemplu (sunt sigur ca gasesti si mai ieftin, mie asta mi-a picat prima): PCI Express x4 cu 3 x USB 3.2 Type-C + 2 x USB-A, Delock 89074. Te va ajuta nu doar la Oculus, ci si la transferuri serioase pe USB (3.2 Gen 2x2 duce 20Gbps de exp.).

However, until now, using GeForce Now on mixed reality headsets like the Meta Quest 3 or 3S wasn’t possible, as their browsers were incompatible with the service.
