Stai ca e ceva ce nu se leaga, pentru mine, acolo.

Batman will be able to use ALL of his gadgets in combat. The example shown was Batman vaulting over a thug, spraying explosive gel on him and then detonating it.
Adica... ii omori? Nu asa procedeaza Batman. Chiar nu vad cum un gel care explodeaza ar putea sa darame un perete dar doar sa paralizeze un om.

Batman can fly over the streets... or sneak beneath them!

A recent preview from the Guardian reveals that as well as running through the streets and soaring above the rooftops, players will also venture in the depths of Arkham City's sewer system!

You can also spot manhole covers that will let you into the sewer system

Arkham City is shaping up to be much more vertical than it's predecessor, and who knows what threats are lurking beneath Arkham City?

Batman: Arkham City release date spotted - New Game Network

It seems fans of Batman might finally get a clue as to when to expect the return of the Caped Crusader to Arkham.

Multiple retailers this morning have updated their preorder listings for Batman: Arkham City, now featuring a prominent release date of October 3rd, 2011.

This date seems more than a simple placeholder, as it has been spotted at both Amazon and GameStop - and it conviniently falls on a Tuesday, the usual release day of the week.

There has been no confirmation from Warner Bros in regards to the date, but that's to be expected. Batman: Arkham City is in development at Rocksteady Studios for PC, XBox 360, and Playstation 3.

uite ceva cu ce nu suntem prea obisnuiti Batman in Full Gear for Arkham City | PlayStation LifeStyle
GDC has given us plenty of new details for upcoming games, including bits about The Last Guardian, Dragon Age II and Infamous 2. Adding one more to the list, Rocksteady Studios, the group behind Batman: Arkham City, also made an appearance to deliver a highly sought after answer about the Bat’s previous arsenal.
Instead of following the highly clichd norm of returning your character to a weaker, unequipped state (a la the Metroid Prime, God of War, Megaman, and Sly Cooper series to name a few), Rocksteady has confirmed a statement that not only will Batman enter Arkham City with the complete arsenal he possessed from the first game, but he also won’t be stripped of his gear and forced to reacquire it all.
Furthermore, during the 18 month hiatus between the two titles, apparently Batman spent some time retooling his equipment gathered from the asylum to better suit the new environment. No sense leaving it back in the cave, eh Bruce?

The Mystery of Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham City Demo

Well, this Hugo Strange guy appears to be totally well-adjusted and normal.
When it comes to games that have been recently shown to the assembled press over the past few of weeks, two games are battling it out for the top topic of discussion: Battlefield 3 and Batman: Arkham City. BF3 was shown off at an event during the Game Developers Conference last week, and the Batman demo made its first appearance at a Microsoft event the week before that. I caught the demo there, and was pretty impressed so much so that we went back to see the demo a second time during GDC (and shoot an interview that youll see in a few days).

Along with that interview, youll get a bit about the last bits of the GDC week demo, which werent shown last week and Ive apparently signed away my ability to talk to you about the new bits until Friday. But lets talk about one of the more interesting old bits. In the demo, Batman has an exchange with Catwoman. Hes just saved her from Two-Face and hes about to save her again from Joker, whos rigged up a sniper rifle in a nearby bell tower. But between those two attempts on her life, theres time for a brief interrogation.

Batman asks about what the Jokers up to and what role Hugo Strange is playing in all of this. But he also asks about somethingand this is the part that is presented as backwards audio in the democalled Protocol 10. Catwoman claims shes never heard of it, but speculates that Strange, as the guy thats in charge of Arkham City, has something big planned for Batman and that maybe thats what this Protocol 10 is all about.

Whats it mean? It means that Warner and Rocksteady still have plenty of things to reveal about the particulars of Arkham City. That shouldnt surprise you, but I have to admit that I was a little surprised by this weird little quirk in their demo its definitely the first time Ive seen anything like this, and it made for a fun little game for me and my rudimentary audio editing skills. Of course, Protocol 10″ doesnt seem to turn up anything related to Batman online, and the Comic Vine team had nothing to add, either, so its safe to assume that this is something new for the game and not something directly plucked from the books. So I suppose the mystery is still a mystery?

Well have more with Rocksteadys Dax Ginn on Friday.

    The Dark Knight, Too Triumphant?

Batman cant fly. Not in the comics. Not in the movies. Not even in the upcoming video game Batman Arkham City, despite what you might infer from some of the games screenshots.

The Dark Knight of Arkham City nevertheless seems like a more powerful Batman than the one we last played in Batman Arkham Asylum. I saw the game in action last week and the new wall-punching Batman seems more mighty.

One of the games developers promised, however, that in at least one way, Batman may seem weaker.

Dax Ginn, marketing manager for Arkham studio Rocksteady, said that Batmans detective-vision, the high-tech filter that turns much of the game world blue and Batmans enemies easily spotted bright hues, will be less easily over-exploited in Arkham City. Its not so much if you will use it, Ginn said, But can you use it?

Rocksteady developers had been saying that players of the first game used detective vision so much that they missed the beauty of the games natural look and probably had an easier time getting through the game to boot. I knew Rocksteady wants Arkham City gamers to use detective vision less and assumed theyd apply a timer to it. They tried that, Ginn said, but it felt bad and very un-Batman. He wouldnt make a gadget like that, Ginn noted. Nah, Batman wouldnt use something with better batteries than that.

Ginn wouldnt say what will prevent Batman from using his detective vision as often in the sequel, but it seems like the Dark Knights enemies might be scrambling his signals in some way.

It is possible to restrain Batmans power by limiting his gadgetry or smartening his enemies, but the characters power-level paradox is that he is supposed to be a mere man and yet also the mightiest, scariest person imaginable. Video games are a natural medium for emphasi\szing the latter, easily showcasing a Batman who could beat up the thugs who outnumber him and who can always land a batarang exactly where it needs to go. Arkham Asylum let Batman get beat down and saw him struggle with his fears.

The new game, as sequels do, does appear to feature a more powerful Batman. As seen in the screenshot up top, he can now soar from the heights of Arkham City. Thats probably because he needs to because this game is Arkham City not Asylum and therefore there are greater heights in the game world from which to swoop. I saw this Batman hanging from helicopters, swooping down from them to rooftops, or down from street signs to bad guys on the ground. Surely this is out of the necessity of the new games virtual geography. Arkham Citys action takes place 80 per cent outdoors, Ginn said, flipping the indoor/outdoor ratio from Arkham Asylum. The guy needs to get around. Batman cant fly, but this Arkham City Dark Knight sure seems like he could play Hawkman if he had to, at least the descending part of that role.

In the old Arkham Asylum game, Batman could break through weakened walls with the help of a little bit of plastic explosive. In the new game, he can punch through those walls. That boost in his powers is, on the one hand, a pleasant improvement in game system efficiency, streamlining an activity gamers might often want to make Batman do. But it also makes this Batman just a little closer to Superman, a guy who, billowing cape notwithstanding, hes not.

Just as game developers are challenged by how to make Superman an interesting video game character despite his great strength and lack of weaknesses, Rocksteady and other Batman game creators always need to manage Batmans power levels to make him seem in some way mortal. That is what makes him Batman. Well see how Rocksteady does when Batman Arkham City comes out this fall on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Batman: Arkham City - Rocksteady's Top 5 Gadgets

It's an understatement to say we're looking forward to Batman: Arkham City. It's shaping up to be a dark, brutal and compelling slice of action, dropping Batman into a large section of Gotham City and giving him more versatility in movement, combat and gameplay. And a large part of that - as anyone who played the original would know - comes down to the gadgets.

"With Batman's utility belt, what we've done is we've really thought about the way in which he used them and developed them within Arkham Asylum, and then considered the challenge that he faces within Arkham City," Rocksteady's Marketing Game Manager Dax Ginn told us. "All of his gadgets evolve in a way that is appropriate to survival within Arkham City, so it's not the same set that he took into Arkham Asylum."

We asked Dax to tell us about his five favourite gadgets, in no particular order. Here's what he had to say:

    The Cryptographic Sequencer

"The Cryptographic Sequencer was a gadget that Batman had in Arkham Asylum, but he was using it to unlock security panels and door locks that were basically right next to him. Out in a sprawling game world like Arkham City, he uses it to hack into conversations that are happening anywhere in the city, so you use the Cryptographic Sequencer in this game to identify and hack into communications between criminal masterminds and their thugs, the various factions, it gives you a kind of clue and an insight into the broader narrative that's happening, not within your immediate vicinity."

    The Explosive Gel

"The Explosive Gel was something that has evolved out of Arkham Asylum in a really awesome way, because rather than just being able to use Explosive Gel to take down a weakened wall we've given Batman the ability to just smash through that wall, and so we've taken Explosive Gel in a different direction and integrated it into combat, so if you've got four or five guys around you and you're taking them down, you can use Quick Combat Gel.

Batman basically does a summersault handstand and sprays the gel on the floor, and then kicks out of that, and then from that remote position he can then detonate the gel, which obviously takes down a load of guys or delivers a lot of damage at that point. Integrating gadgetry into combat is a totally new feature for Arkham City, and it works so sweetly."

    The Batclaw

"Another example [of using gadgets in combat] is the Batclaw, so if there's a guy on the other side of the battle from you, you can unleash your Batclaw, drag him across, and go into a body slam or an uppercut. There's a whole load of different moves that link into that."

    The Line Launcher

"The Line Launcher that we developed for Arkham Asylum has been evolved in a way that gives the player an incredible sense of flexibility in navigation. The Line Launcher in the first game just connected a wire between two points, and then Batman used that as a zipline to get across a gap or whatever it might be. Now, you can connect that wire between two points, and as you're zipping across it you can flip up onto it and balance on the wire, or during that flip you can fire another wire at 90 degrees to that first wire.

So it puts you in a position where you can flip up, then use that freeform, emergent perch point you've just made to then attack from the shadows or attack from above, or if you use the double line launch, you can get around, navigate through tight spots. There are particular, specific puzzles that have been built up just to encourage the player to use the Line Launcher in an awesome, strategic way."

    Smoke Pellets

"The Smoke Pellet is something that you use when you're absolutely outnumbered and - most importantly - outgunned. So if there's a load of guys who are all packing assault rifles and you know there is no way that you are going to be able to take them all down, if you drop a smoke bomb it buys you, maybe half a second, to then get out of there, whether that's grappling up to the ceiling or a gargoyle or making a covert exit. It's kind of like a last ditch 'this is your final opportunity to get out of here alive'."

    OXM List Arkham City Villains!

Please note that Mr.Freeze and Talia al Ghul have not been confirmed by either Rocksteady or Warner... yet Elliott

Forewarned is forearmed, and you'll need all the forearming you can get to take down Batman: Arkham City's colourful array of baddies. Here's our pick of the main offenders.

    The Joker
Still looking a little under the weather after his personal experiment with Venom in Arkham Asylum, it's looking likely that the Joker will play a more hands-off role in the sequel. He may be down, but his goons are still out on the streets - so don't expect the last laugh without a fight.

    Two-Face
A Gotham District Attorney driven to madness after being splashed in the face with acid, Two-Face makes life or death choices based on the flip of a coin. Previously one of Batman's closest friends, you can expect a violent reunion...

    Talia al Ghul
Talia struggles to choose between her love for Batman and the loyalty she has for her terrorist father. Gifted in both business and assassination, let's hope for Bruce's sake that she's not too much of a daddy's girl...

    Calendar Man
Obsessed with dates and calendars, much like British transport this killer usually strikes on national holidays. Using the Xbox 360's internal clock, Calendar man will behave differently depending on what day it is in real life.

    The Riddler
A criminal mastermind who's obsessed with creating puzzles for Batman to overcome, we expect the Riddler to be up to his old tricks in Arkham City. Tougher and more varied riddles will be on the cards - so make sure you keep your eyes open.

    Harley Quinn
Acting as the Joker's naive lackey/lover in the first game, Harley's ditched the dress in favour of a new, leathery look. Considering the fact that the Joker's currently looking pretty withered, you can expect her to be even more hands-on than usual.

    Mr. Freeze
An expert in cryonics, Freeze has to use a special suit to keep his body in sub-zero temperatures. Keen to keep everyone else a little bit chilly too, he's armed with an array of frosty weapons. You should expect a very cold reception.

    Catwoman
Skilled in stealth and martial arts, Catwoman's capable of causing Bats trouble when she's not playing ball as his love interest. Arkham City will begin with you saving her from Two- Face, suggesting she'll be more friend than foe. Watch your back though, Bats.

    Zsasz
'Liberating' victims from their pointless existence, Zsasz leaves gimmicks to one side in favour of the simplicity of knives. His darkest sides were alluded to in Arkham Asylum's tape recordings - but expect to see them first-hand this time...

    Hugo Strange
An evil scientist in charge of Arkham City, Strange knows Batman's true identity. He can also turn men into giant mutant cannibals, which could be an issue. We've got a feeling Hugo has his own agenda and will be working alone.

    - Rocksteady has only confirmed that Catwoman, Two Face, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Hugo Strange, Calendar Man and Zsaz will have a presence in Arkham City.
