Kotaku has been sent an image of the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood's placeholder box art, presumably by a rogue GameStop employee. Ubisoft confirmed the image as legit, officially revealing the next title in the Assassin's Creed series starring Ezio Auditore de Firenze, and in turn confirming the veracity of a handful of details contained on the back of the temporary box art. The blurb reads, "Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy: Rome. And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style."

Ubisoft has sent over some details surrounding Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.The 15-hour single-player portion continues with Ezio fighting against the Templar Order in Rome, by recruiting and then leading a “Brotherhood” against his enemies.This time around, you be teaming up with Da Vinci, Machiavelli, and Caterina Sforza, again, using secret weapons like poison darts, parachutes, an advanced flying machine, and who knows what else.With multiplayer, you will be using Abstergo to train in Assassination with characters that each have their own “signature weapons and assassination techniques”, and match your newly honed skills against other players in different game modes – although Ubisoft failed to provide any details on those.

Harlequins are set to become an even bigger nightmare then they already are in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood: a costume from the loony lot is up for pre-order.
Main character Ezio can travel about Rome in the costume if you place an order down for the game at a local GameStop in the US.
Nothing yet on any pre-order plans for the UK or elsewhere.
The game was formally announced last week by Ubisoft for a release this holiday season on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It sees the continuation of Ezio’s story from Assassin’s Creed II.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed during the Q&A section of the publisher's recent financial earnings call that the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the first game to add a multiplayer component to the series, would undergo a period of beta testing. "We have not announced exactly the date yet," he continued, "but yes, we will have a beta test."

Guillemot promised that more specifics would be announced at E3.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was recently confirmed for the holidays on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 and here are the first images for the upcoming title. Brotherhood will be the first game in the Assassin's Creed series to feature a multiplayer component. It's hard to make out exactly what these screenshots are trying to tell us, but the little we do know about the multiplayer component of AC: Brotherhood its that characters will have their own signature weapons and assassination techniques. Leading us to believe that this guy above has a special technique of killing by syringe in broad daylight...Or not.

PSM3 shares details on Assassin�s Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer / Scrawl

As a part of its �world exclusive� coverage, the June issue of PSM3 shared some new information regarding the multiplayer mode in Assassin�s Creed Brotherhood.

Essentially, eight users will be able to play within small areas of Italian cities such as Rome and San Donato. Players are tasked with the goal of assassinating one another while traveling through masses of town people.

Assassin�s Creed Brotherhood isn�t all about multiplayer, however. PSM3 describes the single player portion of the game as �huge,� continuing Desmond�s tale of controlling Ezio. This time, his target is the Pope�s son, Cesare Borgia. He must also eliminate the Templar influence from Rome.
