GTA Online: Rockstar explains PS3 server troubles -- PlayStation Universe

It's been a harrowing couple days for anyone with the free time and motivation to try playing GTA Online. The ambitious mutiplayer suite, which went live yesterday as a free title update to Grand Theft Auto V, has attracted millions trying to log in simultaneously. As a result, the servers have been hammered, blocking many people from gaining access at all. Even those able to log in have experienced bugs, crashes, instability, and poor matchmaking aplenty.

Rockstar assures us that it is working around the clock to improve playability, and a serious issue specifically affecting PS3 users has already been addressed. Here's what Rockstar had to say on this matter, which was preventing yours truly from playing the game yesterday, alongside other issues:

*For PlayStation 3 users, a PlayStation Network server issue was detected that was limiting the amount of possible concurrent users. This was preventing most players from accessing GTA Online altogether and as of this morning, that problem was resolved.

*There is an issue that is preventing some players from getting through the first tutorial mission across both platforms. Many players have been able to get through this with repeated retries, and we are working on unblocking this for everyone as soon as possible.

*This morning, we experienced some instability across the GTA Online services which is affecting even people who have progressed beyond the tutorial mission. We are identifying these issues now and are working to restore stability for users as soon as possible.

*For the time being and until we have been able to get everybody access to GTA Online and things are running smoothly, we have disabled the option of purchasable GTA$ cash packs. Players can however keep on earning GTA$ by pulling off Jobs and other profitable gameplay activities rather than purchasing cash packs.

Ce se intampla cu masinile/motoarele care le cumpar si le scot la plimbare, dar le uit pe undeva sau mor ? Unde le mai gasesc ? Ca tocmai imi luasem Veyron-ul si dupa o plimbare scurta, am murit si gata...

Si eu cred ca am pierdut un rank 14 cu 3 linii jumate in drving, 3 linii stamina, 1 jumate de strength si 1 jumate de shooting. A da, si un garaj pt masini de 2 locuri + 40.000$

Te referi la SP ? La Vehicle impound , platesti 250$ taxa.Daca o distrugi e dusa cu totul.Pentru MP iti trebuie tracker+insurance.

Eu nu stiu cand am sa refac 75.000$ si level 14 intr-o zi (si dupaia poate sa imi dispara din nou) M-am demoralizat rau de la r***turile asta de bugs/glitches de pe Online

As the number of "my character was deleted, Again!" threads has been on the rise, I count 4 on the front page as of this posting, I thought I would restate rockstar's comment on the situation

First off. Your character was not deleted. It may appear it has, but fear not. Your character is still there.

Rockstar explained that this is due to them bringing more servers online and the data has not been synced between the established servers and the new ones.

If you created a new character in the same spot as your character that was "deleted" contact Rockstar, they can recover the character for you, "on a per player basis"

Nu cumva sa creati alt personaj peste slotul gol. Trebuie sa isi revina.

eu mi-am pierdut salvarile in offline , pe SP..

dupa care mi-am dat seama ca era din cauza sursei pe care salvasem , am ales pe hdd1 desi el facuse niste salvari in hdd0 ..am schimbat sursa si am revenit la ultimele salvari...altfel nu mai aveam rabdare sa reiau.

Mda, am descoperit ca si eu am o problema cu misiunile in storymode. Practic, jocul a sarit peste o misiune. Nu apare nici macar in lista de replay.

Este vorba despre "Legal Trouble", misiunea in care moare secretara lui Devin. Tin minte ca am si primit un telefon de la Devin in care zicea ceva de faptul ca a murit aia si a trebuit sa caut pe net ca sa vad despre ce e vorba.

Cred ca nu se pierde caracterul daca intrati din single in online - choose character.
Cand am vrut sa intru online mi-a dat da editez personajul, am dat cancel iar daca apasam sageata pentru selectarea personajele, slotul pentru online era gol. Am crezut ca iar l-am pierdut pe "urat", dar prin metoda de mai sus l-am recuperat.

• We're currently working on a title update for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to address commonly reported issues with GTA Online. We hope to have it out for download as soon as tomorrow.

In sfarsit ma. Am pornit jocul dimineata, am intrat in online, m-a dus la character selection, si in slotul 1 aparea personajul meu de lvl 11, cand l-am selectat m-a trimis sa il creez din nou, cand am dat inapoi disparuse, so yeah, cloud is ducked. Hai mai repede cu title update. Pana atunci, 50 spaceship parts here I come

Mda, eu nici sa-mi fac personajul nu pot, imi tot apare faza aia ca nu sunt serverele disponibile si ma arunca in SP. Oh well, inseamna ca am timp sa joc si eu The Last of Us.

My husband said i should have gotten options after i bought it, all i got was the achievement pop up and the money taken away from me. I WANT MY PROPERTY!!!!!!! FIX THIS!!
