The next entry in EA's annual Need for Speed franchise will be a sequel to 2005 game Need for Speed: Most Wanted, according to leak-prone South African retailer BTGames.

No release date or launch platforms are mentioned on the Need For Speed Most Wanted 2 product page. But you can pre-order it, if you like.

Criterion, maker of Burnout and the fabulous Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, is expected to be the developer behind the next released Need for Speed game. Is it this one - Most Wanted 2?

Criterion was spotted hiring for an open world racer project last summer.

Criterion's next game is Need for Speed: Most Wanted | Joystiq

Forget about that other Need for Speed: Most Wanted that came out in 2005 – Criterion's got its own Need for Speed: Most Wanted title, and it's set to be unveiled next week during E3. EA confirmed the recent rumors in a missive today announcing its plans for E3.

There are literally zero details beyond the name and the developer, but we'd wager the game will feature Hot Pursuit's lauded Autolog system. And based on the previous "Most Wanted" entry in the series, we're guessing the title has something to do with police chases and speedy automobiles. We'll assuredly find out more next Monday when EA's E3 press conference kicks off.

Prin story nu ma refer la prostiile pe care incercau sa le traga in Undercover ci unul mic, asa cat sa iti dea motiv sa bagi curse. Asa cum a fost si story-ul din primul MW, iti dadea acolo un kick, "ba trebuia sa-l bat pe ala, de-abia astept sa-l intrec, ce moaca de chinez are", stuff like that. Sa nu fie prea sec.
