One of the most surprising reveals of the year has been the announcement of a PS3 port of Mass Effect 2, the highly acclaimed BioWare PC/X360 WRPG, which launched in January of this year. Though many PS3 gamers were delighted by the news, several fans of the series have pointed out that the game is only at its best when you have played the original Mass Effect and made the decisions which shape the universe of Mass Effect 2. BioWare announced that they were working on a solution to this problem which would introduce new players to the franchise, but declined to provide any concrete details.
However, a post on the Official BioWare Forums, posted in German, may have revealed the exact content (besides the game itself) of the PS3 version of ME2.

The Dark Horse comic seems to be a solution to the problem of a lack of Mass Effect 1: an interactive comic which fills you in on the story and allows you to make choices.

It would appear, according to this post, that the PS3 version launches with all of the DLC episodes, and indeed, everything released thus far on the Cerberus network (Mass Effect 2's DLC store).
The game appears to be retailing for €50, which is slightly less than standard new game retail price in Europe, and will launch in January 2011.

Houston also clarified the reported "6 hour exclusive mission" saying it was all a translation error.
"This I believe is a communication error lost in translation," he said. "When we talk about 6 hours of content we are talking about what's included exclusively 'On Disc' (Kasumi, Shadow Broker, Overlord), The Interactive Back Story and the Cerberus Network Access."
