The dark, ominous objects were barely discernible against the angry Caribbean sea, but Christopher�s eyes were young and keen and spotted them with ease. As the ships drew closer the threat became clear. �Pirates!� Christopher�s father cried, but these were no common rovers. The impending doom creeping toward the misty isle of Inez Sound was none other than the Devil�s Tines, a notoriously bloodthirsty fleet of murderers, convicts and deserters. The pirates raised the lonely village, leaving only one alive- the boy Christopher Raven, who had been maimed and left with only one hand along with a burning hatred for the men responsible for slaying his kin.
