    The internet is at a buzz once again due to the recent Final Fantasy XIII TV spot making an appearance during the NBA’s recent All-Star event displaying only the Xbox 360 version of the title. Many argue that Square Enix is abandoning Final Fantasy’s roots as a PlayStation exclusive series while abandoning their loyal fans. I find the whole situation to be very ironic and a sign of desperation. In all honesty who didn’t anticipate an Xbox 360 exclusive TV spot for this title? Microsoft knows that main Final Fantasy series is synonymous with PlayStation; which is why Sony could care-less about Final Fantasy XIII going multiplatform and being marketed on Microsoft’s platform.

    Nu e posibil ca interesul pentru marketing sa fie intocmai pentru a incerca sa rezolve aceasta problema?
    Eu cred ca e mai degraba o tentativa a lui Microsoft de a arata cumparatorilor ca pot avea JRPG-uri bune si pe consola lor.
    Din punctul asta de vedere "articolul" de mai sus mi se pare absurd. Microsoft nu are nici un JRPG in "zona verde" de pe Metacritic (adica peste 75).
    Mi s-ar parea chiar prostesc din partea lor sa nu faca marketing sa arate ca in sfarsit au un JRPG bun sa atraga pentru platforma lor si jucatori de altceva inafara de shootere.

    Desigur, se pot face zeci de speculatii din ambele directii insa fituica de mai sus e o opinie la fel de subiectiva ca si a mea. Nu stiu de ce trebuie mereu sa citam site-uri obscure pentru tot felul de informatii. Opinii la fel de fanboystice putem avea si intre noi ca useri, nu avem nevoie de un Illuminati printre noi sa ne arate calea catre consola suprema.

    Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama has said to CVG he reckons the review scores so far for the RPG have been seen “from a western point of view”.
    “We think many reviewers are looking at Final Fantasy XIII from a western point of view,” he said.
    “When you look at most Western RPGs, they just dump you in a big open world, and let you do whatever you like.
    “[It] becomes very difficult to tell a compelling story when you’re given that much freedom.”
    Recently, reviews for the Japanese version of the game have been mixed. OPM UK gave the game a 9, but PSM3 was revealed last week to have given 70 percent.

    vai cata bascalie. afirmatia asta cu western point of view e o aberatie. dar la se astepta mr motomu? ar fi vrut ca toate publicatiilor (online si print) sa angajeze japonezi care sa fie familiarizati cu valorile si cultura japoneza dar care sa fi stat si citiva ani in UK/US? e normal sa critici ceva, orice, trecand-ul prin propriul filtru, prin propriile valori, iar atunci cand are loc un 'culture clash' rezultatul este de obicei extrem. FFXIII este un JRPG iar cei care au de gand sa scrie despre el ar face bine sa fie familiarizati cu genul ca altfel iese o varza. netul a dat dreptul tuturor la o opinie, iar acum ne trezim ca toti habarnamistii sunt tari in gura. that's sooo wrong. (si nu, nu ma refer la simple posturi pe un forum, ci la articole pe site-uri de specialitate sau bloguri care pot influenta fff multa lume in ceea ce priveste achizitionarea sau ignorarea unui anumit titlu)

    total de acord cu h0stile . FF XIII ar trebui jucati de oameni care au mai butonat un JRPG si stiu cum sa il aprecieze cu adevarat (nu pui un campion la MW2 sa scrie despre un JRPG ) . Din cauza unor review-uri scrie de niste amatori ca astia ar putea afecta destul de tare vanzarile , pentru ca Gheorghe nu cumpara FF XIII pt ca IGN i-a dat nota 6 (deci e un joc "naspa" ) dar Famitsu i-a dat 90 (da ce stiu japonezii astia ? :-J nu ? ) .     He reckons it’d be “too exhausting” to use them for future FF titles.

    Nici eu, dar unii spun ca versiunea de X360 ar rula la o rezolutie mai mica si ca ar lipsi anumite detalii.

    Square Enix has announced a special launch event for Final Fantasy XIII when it launches in a couple of weeks.
    Taking place at HMV in Oxford Street in London, the shindig will see producer Yoshinori Kitase and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo turn up as special guests with a ten minute photo-call to take place for fans.
    There will also be a Q&A session for the pair, hosted by TV presenter Alex Zane, as well as prizes for anyone who turns in Final Fantasy costumes.

    A user known as MazingerDUDE, who performs tasks for well respected analysis website Digital Foundry, has revealed that through a study of recent Xbox 360 and PS3 screenshots, that the 360 version actually runs at 576p, which is not HD resolution.
    Furthermore, he has also provided a hi-res screenshot of the same image, for both versions of the game – just look at the differences for yourself.

    ori sunt eu chior ori pixelii aia sunt patrati? deci 1:1? de unde au scos-o cu 4:5? in afara de diferenta de brightness mi-a atras atentia cotul miinii drepte (cuta facuta de haina) care pe X360 pare sa fie ceva mai zimtata.

    anyway...pentru cei interesati de subiect (ca eu sunt deja plictisit), sursa este aici. personal cred ca jocul va fi apropiat ca si experienta vizuala pe ambele platforme, chiar daca diferenta de rezolutie se confirma pana la urma. cind te joci de la 2-3m de display, exact de zimtii aia iti arde...

    mai rau e ca amatorii aia de la pr news au scris si confirmed in dreptul titlului ca si cum vreun rep al companiei ar fi confirmat prostia asta. si lumea crede...

    Hai ca deja ajungeti ca "graphic-whores" de pe alte forumuri... In loc sa va intereseze povestea, care sunt atuurile lui XIII (ca deh, ar putea fi cu ghinion), vad numai comparatii intre console. Mai am un pic si ma convingeti sa-l iau pe 360, numai asa, sa fiu "contra vantului". Pun pariu ca n-o sa am timp sa ma uit daca e 576p sau 588p sau 485p... Tin minte cat de rupt de realitate am fost cu Final Fantasy VII... pe un amarat de PlayStation. Credeti ca m-a interesat vreodata in ce rezolutie l-am jucat ? Nope ! In schimb mi-au ramas in minte minunile din Gaia... am intrat in pielea lui Cloud... am calarit prima oara in viata in chocobo... and so on.

    P.S. Pe vremea aceea avea 4 disk-uri... rula pe un amarat de CPU la 33Mhz... HD nu era nici macar un vis. Ce vremuri. It was all about playing the games... not the graphics...

    Eu eram, bineinteles, ironic. Mai ales ca site-urile care lanseaza astfel de bombe sunt niste obscuritati de la periferia internetului care spera sa fie preluate si sa mai faca si ele nitel trafic folosindu-se de flame wars.

    Daca sunt stiri atat de valide de ce nu apar pe un IGN, Gamespot, and so on

    Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama has issued an official statement on the official EU site for the RPG, saying the game�s linearity will be �very beneficial� for old and new Final Fantasy players alike.
    �In order to allow the player to become absorbed in the drama of the storytelling and the new and exciting world of Cocoon and be drawn to the characters without getting distracted or lost we have deliberately used a linear game design for the introduction sections so they can be enjoyed in the same manner as watching a film,� he said.
    �We are aiming for a vibe while playing that is similar to the experience of an FPS style game, where the player rapidly progresses through a series of dramatic events and experiences one after the other on an imposing and atmospheric battlefield.
    �This kind of design is also very beneficial for the player in allowing them to gradually and systematically learn the brand new battle system that this instalment brings to the series. It is set up such that the player will experience and try out each character�s possible roles in battle and naturally internalise the intensely tactical nature of the paradigm shift system.�
