Thief: PS4 version likely to be capped at 30fps -- PlayStation Universe
Eidos Montreal has indicated the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 versions of Thief will be capped at 30 frames per second.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, producer Stephane Roy suggested that having better physics on display in the home console release would be more beneficial than a higher frame rate due to the type of game Thief is.
“For a shooter it's a no-brainer. The higher the frame rate is, the better it is,” said Roy, in response to whether the team is aiming for 60fps on consoles.
"On my side, the type of game I'm going to work on... I don't want to put extra pressure on the team just because we can do it if it's not a necessity. If the players see nothing different, maybe I would prefer to have better physics and stuff like that and not this 60 frames per second frame rate."
These comments ring true to what industry legend John Carmack said in 2012, suggesting that “a lot of next-gen games will still target 30fps.”
Pleasingly, Roy also said the PS4 version is said to be more or less on par with its PC counterpart in terms of visuals.
Thief is a reboot of the classic stealth franchise, and is scheduled to hit PS4, PC and ‘other next-generation consoles’ (presumably Xbox 720) in 2014.

stati mai fratilor un pic..ca thief n-a fost niciodata despre grafica ultra high super end..ci doar despre stealth si multitudinea de optiuni in abordarea unui nivel...sunt jocuri si jocuri..nu toate pun baza pe grafica solida..

Pai eu nu ma refeream la grafica cand ziceam ca it looks like crap. Putin imi pasa de grafica, dar serios acum... AI-ul mi se pare imbecil, gameplay-ul dubios si nu inteleg de ce tie se inegresec marginile ecranului cand esti ascuns in umbra, iti taie o gramada din campul de vedere... nu numai ca nu e realist, dar e absolut cretin. Eu am mai zis ca la jocul asta vreau sa iasa perfect, dar deja o dau in gropi...
Din trailer jocul parea mai promitator.
